What doesn't make sense to me is the price of these small compact tractors in comparison to the price of a car these days. The compact tractors cost more then the cars do.

We’re still doing hay and will be until early November.
Then it’s on to lime, then fertilizer through the winter.
In fact, I have 75 tons of lime coming at 6AM tomorrow. Once thats spread, we are dropping another 30 acres of 2nd cutting.
3rd cutting getting close to starting. Have a really nice clean field ready to cut in maybe 2 weeks.
I just take my iPad or Iphone with me. Easy to check in from the tractor or truck.

The question is of course, $8,000.00 off WHAT?? MSRP can be anything they want it to be. Tractors don't come with window stickers like cars and trucks do.... And I see that asterisk as well...

Mostly to do with mass production. If there were as many tractors as cars then they would become much cheaper.
Have you looked at SXSs? I bought my 4 seater Polaris Rzr about 10 years ago new for 17k. Now they start at 27k and go over 40k.

All of this just convinces me to keep my older Kubota. About the only frill it has is electric start
I will be doing some updates to it and after reading about electric mirrors in a previous post its got me thinking.
My son was looking for a good mpg car and saw that Somerset Toyota had one coming in and it was advertised as msrp of $28k. When it came in I went with him to look at it and the dealer had a market adjustment sticker on it adding $6000 to the price. It was an ugly confrontation.
He went to the Danville Ford dealer and found a vehicle he liked with no market adjustment or document fees. Like everything it pays to shop around.

Even crazier when comparing the cost of a UTV to a car. I can buy a brand new Kia for less then some of the UTV's out there!!!!

I never understood paying all that money for SXS, UTV, etc.
More practical to buy a used small pickup.

Dealer told me a few weeks ago they are selling more cars now, with none on their lot, than ever before. And because of the “ shortage”, they are selling at MSRP and above. I gotta believe they are under ordering to keep the deal going.

Well, I am noticing a change. Thers 5-10 tractors trucks and trailers I am “watching“ on line and getting notices that they about 1/2 of them have dropped in price.
I am making moves on 2 of them.
I think it’s because interest rates are in the high single digits and there’s a lot fewer potential buyers. We are in a recession, but its about to take a turn for the worse.
Fuel going up to where it was before they sold off the strategic reserves.

Bought mine in 1997 with transmission trouble... paid the 1050 and drove home... pulled transmission and replaced the bad bearing and while I was at it the clutch disk.
In 25 years only battery and oil changes plus 2 tires...
It works very hard mostly towing and hauling fuel for the tractors... many 1 yard gravel loads...

I’m seeing a lot of tractor ads recently… finance and rebate offers. BOA is projecting 170,000 job losses per month moving into 2023.
If only someone had predicted this…

I've driven most vehicles made out to work sights. The last time I drove our small sized truck out to one, we later said "never again" and got an atv with a box. Today we are using the 2nd one we've owned to access work in the field. Don't care what Samuari's or Jeeps cost…
