Should a new tractor come with a full tank of gas?

I bought mine used with 175 hours but it did come with a full tank of fuel, and free delivery. I also got two hats; one Kubota hat, the other from the dealer.

I sure hope not, it would ruin the diesel engine

Yep, that's exactly what I did.

I have now 35 years of experience handling her input and reactions, and I don't doubt for a moment that if I involved her before making the purchase, it would have been a world of trouble. Besides, it's not like it did her any harm -- the money's separate, I paid cash, and she generally gets the things she wants. For example, I just bought and a couple weeks ago installed a greenhouse for her exclusive "she shed" use, with electricity and all. You will note the tractor did a great deal of work preparing a 14' by 8' raised level bed on our sloping land, plus gravel and flagstone in this effort, and she liked the tractor throughout the project.

It is what it is.
You did alot of explaining there when you simply could have just said "NUTS" ;)

BTW, I was 16 and worked for a hog farmer one summer. I went to fill up his gas pickup and they had these pumps that looked like old re-purposed gas pumps from a gas station. In fact that is exactly what they were. One of them said gasoline on it, so I gassed up the truck, put about 5 gallons of diesel in his truck (yes diesel).

Started driving down the road and that truck ran like absolute crap, barely ran at all but I got to the hog barns with it. When I told him what happened he asked which pump I used and I told him the one that says gasoline on it. And he said that is a diesel pump, even though it said gasoline on it. He said didn't you smell diesel when you were filling it up and I said yeah but I thought it was just from the other two pumps. I had no experience with diesel at this point in my life.

It fouled his plugs and he had to take it into a mechanic and they did something, not major, but it didn't destroy his truck.

I think gas in a diesel would be a whole other story Yeeeeek!

Putting diesel in a gas engine usually doesn’t do anything besides making it run poorly or not at all. Putting gas in a diesel has more expensive results.

My new Kubota came with a full fuel tank. MORE IMPORTANTLY - it came with a great dealership. They have been my "go to" dealer for over forty years.

I always ask for the Operator and WSM in PDF along with a complete set of filters, and the first 50 hour service included in the purchase price.

I don't remember how much fuel was in the tank, I tend to enjoy the clean shiney new machine while it lasts.

For cars it's been hit and miss. Dealerships used to give free car washes with their service - thats long gone.

When my Kioti was delivered, tank was empty. The guy who delivered it to me was also my salesman since he lives near me. He was not happy, so he drove to their dealership that is 5 miles from my house but sells Kubota and filled up two 5 gallon cans and brought them back to fill my tank. Got extra keys, 2 hats, threw in the floor mat on the tractor as well as the armrests for the seat (which I still don't have, on backorder!). Granted, I asked him what he was going to throw in for free when we were making the deal, not sure he would have done that unless I asked but possibly. I think they also filled the rear tires at no charge, but I know I paid for it in the price of the tractor somehow.
