Traced my issues to the known SL app issue re: using one phone to config more than one SL system. I was commanding a particular SL router to go into bypass mode. I am connected to that router; the app tells me it reconfigured that router; but I later learn it stubbornly will only issue such a command to the very first SL router that particular iPhone set up. Very confusing.

Last time this "app issue" surfaced, I was in Oregon trying to "stow" my SL RV antenna. But it instead stowed my SL residential antenna in Nevada instead ....
I know, you need one of these to label the screen on each phone!

Of course reading the screen might be a little difficult...😆

Well, I fabricated a highly sophisticated temporary mounting system and after a few technical difficulties, we got it up and running. My speed tests range from 13-70 Mbps. I am letting it collect data for a few hours before I take it down.

I am planning to do a temp install/test on my starling todaynor tomorrow. How hard is it to move it to another location if this turns out to be a bad choice? Meaning, to repeat the setup and discovery process.

easy , I had mine sitting in my yard at first with cable under garage door. The app has a stow option for the dish. Do that before unplugging the router, although I’ve moved mine without doing that.

That’s awesome. At that angle I don’t think the trees will be a problem.

I’ve been hesitant to set my home unit up using the same phone as my rv unit.

@WoodChuckDad That's an "A"in my book for creativity and getting it done with what you have.

Thanks for sharing.

All the best,

Peter

Before I left tonight, I took some stat readings.
It did give me reduced speeds during peak hours ranging from 10 to 33. With one spike of 63.
The modem is sitting on the floor in the spare bedroom and I was still able to use the internet on the back porch and in the master bedroom. Depending on performance once we are there , I may get a mesh router. But I have to say that I am ver pleased with this performance so far. The location appears to work so I am hitting the easy button and getting all the mounting paraphernalia ordered quickly.

Your obstruction page looks pretty good. Normally there shouldn't be repeated 'no signal received' or other disruptions, so keep an eye out for that. Even though the obstructions page shows hardly any red, that is more 'shadow' than I'd expect, so it could be that there still are some sight issues.

I brought up my home SL unit tonight, using same phone as RV SL unit, using “set up another“. It went smooth.
First I brought home SL up with it sitting in yard. Once I got that done, I stowed both units, swapped antennas, then swapped router.
Only glitch was the RV unit didn’t work at first after moving it to yard., the cable was not fully seated in the router.
Was easy to swap the mesh unit to the new one, had to first disconnect from RV unit.
Had both working again, then stowed the RV unit. Put RV service on hold.
