Oh I want it, but we are not made of $$$ and its kinda big for our yard. Plus it may be a tad small for trails but some guys here did say they run a 4ft 3p mower with there's. What to do, what to do..
🥺  🥺

I would say buy it and see what you think. You can always convert it back to cash if it is not the right fit.
Exactly what I was going to suggest. Heck, he may even be able to sell it for 2 or 3k more if the tractor doesn't fit the needs just right. Market is crazy right now.

Not trying to talk you into to something you don’t need but that is a very fair price. When he bought it I’m guessing without the mid mount mower that is about what he paid for it. I had a Kubota BX before. The JD turns sharper and with loaded tires is more stable.

To give you something else to think about, I know you got a new trailer. It will probably fit on it. The weight? Bare tractor maybe 1800 pounds. Loaded tires, FEL, maybe the rear blade on it, closer to 3000 pounds.

I thought our new trailer was close to, but more than 3000lbs.

Haven't seen your yard to usefully comment. There was a long and extensive debate over mmms vs ZTRs on TBN recently where every side of that issue was spoken to.

One thing about this size tractor is that it's still relatively transportable while being big enough to do some useful work. If you get too big of a tractor, it's not going to be easy to manuver on a trail. 4wd plus a hydrostat transmission also means you should have good control over ground speed.

Working on a trail with a tractor is a different experience than doing it by hand. When you work by hand, you've got the personal experience of being in the woods. When you involve a tractor, I think it interposes a machine between us and nature. I think you'll understand when I say I'd rather walk in the woods than ride an ATV in the woods because the experience is different. If you are there to get work done that's best done with a tractor, so be it. If you're there because you love nature and primarily want that experience, then a tractor might get in the way.

We have lots, lots and lots of training and experience doing trail work. Tractors and other various power tools are not new to us. We need a tractor for mowing logging roads and other work that is not practical to do by hand.

I’d say it can work as a mower but not ideal

The loader, however

You will wonder how you lived without

If the picture of the trail you cut with the DR trail mower is representative of what you intend to cut, the 2025r is a good size for that. In my experience, a bigger tractor wouldn't be as nimble on a confined woods trail like the one in your picture. I also believe the 2025r would be less damaging to the trail than a larger machine.

Not sure what you are really asking?

BTW, JD uses its own proprietary quick attach mount for the FEL.

It is proprietary, but the aftermarket support is there in a big way.

Also, I personally prefer the JDQA system, it's idiot proof.

I'll take the spousal unit there to take a look at it this weekend. Our trailer is rated at 3000 lbs. Our very dated lawn mower is still functional, so its not being replaced at this time. (don't tell her, but I think this used 2025r is a great deal and we'll find many, many more jobs to do with it, than I can imagine )

You ought to jump on it. I don't know what the market is there but here in Maine I just sold my 1025R for $16.9k, that is $900 more than I paid for it 3 years ago and if I wanted to sit on it I could have made a bit more. That was tractor, loader, mower, and a few aftermarket accessories. Again, that was a 1025R, a 2018 with ~170 hours on it; that 2025R is a fair bit more capable.

I mowed for 3 years with the 1025R and a 54C auto-connect deck, and it did a spectacular job; the only machine I've owned that delivered a better cut was the Cub Cadet XT3 I had before the 1025R. Given they use the same decks, so far as I understand, I would thing that the 2025R would do a fine job mowing. If anything, the slightly larger size might make it a little less nimble, but unless you're maneuvering through all the trees I don't think it would be too bad.

Was out whacking our trail this am. This portion is logging road which we'd love to do via three point mower.

It looks like the perfect job for a tractor. You could also carry a lot of tools and stuff in the bucket.

Traded in my 2015 gen. 1 (pictured is a gen. 2) for $13k in January with 430 hours. Checked on retail: $17k. The Kubota dealer had a buyer nearby for $14k for mine.

Never operate with the ROPS down like that. You can bend the top link.

Had lots of electrical problems with mine. Never could shed the exploding driveshaft Ujoint on the 4010 I had. The Kubota B2601 has no such driveshaft Ujoint. Had a lemony 1025R in between the 4010 and 2025R.

Arly, I have a 2018 (first year production) 2025R and think its a great tractor. I have the 60" auto-connect mower and the 120R loader. I have just over 400 hours now and the only problem I've had was when it was new the parking brake was not adjusted properly which prohibited the differential lock from disengaging. The repair was a five minute adjustment.

I love the mower auto connect feature as it truely takes one minute to remove the belly mower and 2 minutes to reinstall. The loader too is a one minute off, two minute on procedure.

I think the price the seller is asking is very reasonable give the hours and the appearance. These tractors have a 6 year powertrain warrranty (two years on complete tractor) that transfers to the new owner at no cost so you still would have some protection should an issue arise.

For about the cost of the MMM you can buy a ZT that will do the lawn 2x faster and give a better cut. And the MMM needs to come off most of the time when using the tractor as a tractor.

But buy the tractor for the other reasons.

We tried a zero turn on our yard and did not like it. Its 90% hillside and our current mower is 4wd.
