Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 4:00AM. Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 88F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Winds are currently in the 15-20MPH range, and have been for the past 48 or so hours, so it's nice to see the forecast calling for some calm.
Yesterday morning I noticed lots of air traffic overhead and using the FlightTrader24 website saw that two tankers and an traffic control plane were circling a new fire near Camptonville 25 miles to the southeast. Firefighters stopped forward progress by 2PM, and had reached 50% containment of the 25 acre blaze. Farther south at the start of the Grapevine on I5 in Kern county, the Edmonston Fire had consumed 600 acres by last night and had only been 20% contained. It's too early for fire season, but here we are.
I see there's a
new MedCram video out with some surprising news on aligatoritis. Maybe the next project should be a sauna?
I guess I'm old fashioned, and just use "bye bye" before hanging up the phone.
When I was young and foolish, it was long hair and bell bottoms. Now adays there seems to be a competition on who can best dress up as a clown. Think I'll stick with my long hair.
And speaking of phones, with this newfound internet speed, maybe I should try WiFi Calling. Have any of you used it?
Poked around some more with network settings looking for the bottleneck between the StarLink Wifi and the Unifi equipment, but came up empty handed. Overall performance is still amply fast, but video uploads still take a while. That said, I was able to update the OS on the iPhone last night in only a few minutes, where the last time it took the better part of an hour and would sometimes take multiple attempts. And with no data caps, there's no threat of getting slowed down or having to buy more data.
The motorcycle tumble also cracked a mirror and broke the mount for the XM radio antenna, so I have some sheetmetal work to do today. The mail order house I've been using for BMW parts doesn't stock the mirror, so it's back to the local stealer.
Started packing for a motorcycle rally next weekend, putting up a larger tent I haven't used in a long time. It'll be nice to spread out a little, as I don't climb into my usual tent as much as I feel like I'm putting it on.
Hope everyone enjoys a nice Spring weekend!
