One rooster is fine. Multiple roosters constantly display against each other, and occasionally fight for territory.
I only kept one at a time, except for my meat birds. Young roosters like to crow, just like any teenager. It wasn’t uncommon to hear him sounding off at 3:00 AM. I can see where that would be annoying if I had neighbors... just like listening to a barking dog at all hours of the day and night.

Some people would enjoy an extra hour in the morning in the summer so they could bike/run/fish before work. It really depends on if people are morning people or late afternoon people and what their work hours are. I'm retired and have my own hours but am just looking at it from different angles.

I'd have preferred permanent standard time if it had to be changed at all. I like to get a couple hour bike ride in before I start work. Even with good lights, riding in the dark sucks. That's just my personal preference but I think a lot of people are going to be unhappy about an extra hour of darkness in the morning. It was so unpopular last time it was tried in the '70s that it was quickly rescinded.

Maybe I'll be fully retired by the time this idiocy takes effect and then I won't care.

I prefer my “extra” hour of daylight in the evening.

…but at the “end of the day”, there’s only so many hours of daylight in a day no matter which numbers the hands of the clock are pointing at.
If you don’t like DST, just do everything an hour earlier. Each lunch at 11:00, watch the Five O’clock News instead of at 6:00. What’s the problem?
..okay, sometimes you have to coordinate with other peoples schedule. But if you work at a place with flex time, many people, especially the retired and the self-employed (farmers), don’t even need clocks!

I really don't care one way or the other. Just leave it alone, once decided.

Yeah, doesn't matter to you Alaskans. It is either dark for too long or light for too long, right? 1 hour either way is inconsequential.

Very True. Depressed all winter and work yourself to death all summer.

Senators Whitehouse (Rhode Island) and Senator Rubio (Florida) are co-sponsoring a bill to make Daylight Savings Time permanently year round. Personally I hope it gains traction and passes.

And I think it just passed in the Senate unanimously.

Everyone's situation is different but I think I would lean towards permanent standard time vs permanent DST. Sure, this bill/vote happens right when people are having to go through the clock change and emotions are high. Should more thought be put into going permanent DST than emotions? Should we have discussions and studies BEFORE a vote?
That's probably because you're nearer the eastern end of the CST.

Take the EST, for example.

Sunrise in Boston today was 6:54.
Sunrise in South Bend, IN was 7:55.

We're both in the same time zone.

Boston's more towards the eastern side of the EST time zone, and we're on the western edge of the EST time zone.

There's no way to please everyone.

I don’t want it. It’s just that it’s the main reason for it in my area

Yep, I'm near Lexington, KY and in June it doesn't get dark outside until 10:00 p.m. because we're on the western edge of the zone. I love it. I can work an 8 hour shift and then go home and have 7 more hours to do work around the property.

I went to college in Bowling Green, KY which is on the eastern edge of the central time zone. Friggin' miserable. Got dark at a little after 4:00 p.m. by Christmas. Yuck. Made it seem like it was ALWAYS dark.
