My KB2485 backhoe subframe cracked and broke the rear housing for the hoe as well. I had it 20mo's and not sure when it happened but the cracks are catastrophic total failure. My dealer told me it was out of warranty (older than 1 year) but Kioti acknowledges bad welds on their sub frames and they went good for the entire repair (good on them) I'm guessing it would have been around $1500 CAD for a total dealer repair. I've also heard of instances where others have had a subframe crack and Kioti was not willing to help out at all. Just a heads up, inspect your subframe each time you remove it.

Thank you for sharing this. One year seems a bit skimpy for something like this?

Yep the subframe looks like it was only designed to hold up the backhoe to the tractor while the tractor is moving. It looks like the outriggers are supposed to do most of the work supporting the backhoe while digging. I try to be aware of when the outriggers are not supporting the backhoe. The outriggers start to slip when I take too big of a bite of dirt or push down. That is when I need to readjust the outriggers, but it is not always obvious. As I recall, the instructions say not to lift the tractor off the rear wheels using the outriggers, but doing that causes the outrigger feet to slip very easily. Once the outrigger feet slide or lift off the ground, the weight of the backhoe and all of the digging forces are only supported by the subframe.
I really like the idea of the easily removed/ installed backhoe. It makes the tractor a multi tool rather than just a swiss army knife. However I may redesign the subframe after the warranty runs out.

Thanks for sharing this info, I retrofitted the subframe that was on my Mahindra to fit the Kioti. It stays on the tractor and the Bradco 509 backhoe fits into the subframe notches (like a frontend loader hookup) whenever hooking up. I often look everything over to ensure things are still stable.

Thanks for giving us all a heads up on this issue. Happy to see Kioti made the repair even out of warranty. I just checked my subframe, and so far it seems solid and without any stress fractures. Its 4 years old now and is used mainly for drainage Culvert installations. My welds sure look much better than the welds on your subframe.

Perhaps Daedong allowed some poorly trained welders onto their subframe fabrication floor. They need to inspect BEFORE the powder coating process, because that powder coating hides the poor welds. I can see even minor rust developing inside your weld fractures.

Exactly how did the Kioti dealer repair the subframe bad welds and stress fractures. Just curious, in case my subframe starts showing similar issues.

Hi,
The dealer replaced the subframe and the rear mounting bracket, no repair was done, said it was a common problem so they warrantied it.

Thanks for the feedback. So Kioti actually replaced the subframe. Just Happy to see Kioti stand by their equipment, even when it's out of warranty.

Thanks @Boss 302
That looks much stronger than the Kioti backhoe mount. I like how it puts the load out on the axle housing closer to the wheels. That should transmit the loads to the wheels in a much better way.
