Supply is getting better

Not happening where I live. Our power plants are converting from coal to NG.

For that matter, not one, but two brand new gas power plants have been built within 10-15 miles of me.

Short term, yes. Middle term, unknown. Long term, no.

Remember, the ships are already built. The ports are already there. The rail infrastructure is already there (here in PA/DE/NJ) to get the gas from upstate PA right to port on the Delaware River and into the Atlantic.
Been that way for decades.

I’m glad that the supply of gas is abundant in the US and we are not exporting. It keeps my heating bills lower.

After reading about how much gas we have under PA alone, you and I and the rest of the world could be supplied with abundant natural gas for hundreds of years. Fracking experts, using micro blasts and water pressure, can extract billions of cubic feet of gas far under our water table and supply the world with cheap NG.
It gets even better because there are bigger reserves in the US

If we did that, America and the rest of the world could benefit from more jobs, tax base and revenues.
The bad guys would have less money for “foreign conquests” and the world more peace.

There is going to shortages until we can beat deadbeats globally. They can not go to work and live off of unemployment at the same time. But probably not a good discussion for this forum.

Yep. One thing that many people overlook is that the workforce pool has been shrinking. Baby boomers are retired or close to retirement and the birth rate has been lower over the past several decades. There are simply less people of working age. Many baby boomers kept working beyond retirement age, but the Covid situation was the factor that caused many to finally retire.

Yeah it’s all tied back to the agrarian way of life and mechanization
A farmer couldn’t survive WITHOUT a big family.
Now that’s gone and a software designer/basement flooder/world renowned tough guy cant survive WITH a big family.

This also means less people entering the work force.
