That’s part of the consideration. Most of the places I’m looking is within 20-30 minutes away from a hospital.
How good they are is hard to gauge.

A quick way to gauge is if the hospital has an intensive care unit.

It has been cold and rainy here lately. It maybe today is the day to take the mower up to the barn and bring back the snowblower. May be some snow tomorrow.

Christmas here was nice. It was a little more simple than some years. I guess we won't be going back to how it was when I was ten and there were piles of presents under the tree. Man! that was exciting. Both our daughters flew in. It was great to have them home and no one got sick.(y)

The delta hit us here in Lancaster county in November and December. Now the omicron is hammering us. What amazes me is not how many people are getting it it is that some family members don't get it. They are surely exposed but they somehow don't get it.

Stay warm it won't be long till Spring.

Chris

Did he have to stay in the driver seat and inch forward or was he able to stop on the road and take a nap? Did he report a lot of vehicles running out of gas? Did he see any Tesla electric vehicles on the side of the road being charged or towed?

He did not report any Tesla or other vehicles on side of road. They took him off I-95 and onto US-1. Road was clear. But not moving. Seemed like he moved to another traffic light every 1/2 hour. Someone had to be at the wheel to do the move. He runs a team. So there are 2 people in truck.

Everyone has heard of Barbasol, but I didn't know it was the number one shaving cream in the US and is made in, and always has been made
in Ashland Ohio. I've never used it but I think I remember it has a moderate smell. I don't like lasting perfumes of any kind so I normally go for unscented
shaving cream and deodorant, but clearly a lot of guys like the smell if it's number one. I bet some of you used a little Barbasol this morning.
Not this morning but I have used it in the past. It’s a “Made in USA” product that is very popular. Old timey shaving cream.

Ron. Glad he could get off onto US 1...thousands of vehicles were just parked on I-95 for many hours overnight at 15F...one of the cars had one of our US senators.. he said it was 19 hours.

Power outages have some advantages: Haven't slept so we'll in recent memory...something about snuggling into a blanket cocoon when it is 50F in the bedroom. Plus, reading more books than ever.

The latest CV19 results, from the week of 12/19/2021, show Omicron finally making an appearance in the county with about 25% of the new cases. I bet it's much higher now. New cases spiked to almost record levels Christmas week, but they're down significantly for the week of 1/3/2022. But the trend is still higher, and mandatory masking is required state wide now.

The real crisis of CV is the irrational hysteria which has people with no symptoms waiting hours for a test or missing work for 10 days.

That's when you realize you need a bigger tractor, a lot bigger and maybe a lot faster!
I'm thinking I'd rather have a tank with a 105mm howitzer...

Routine healthcare, we have come to rely on local infrastructure.

Specialized - we travel. That usually means 2 to 13 hours one way. We seek out "the best". It has proven expensive, financially, emotionally, mentally.....but it is for ones own health.

We found in the area we have resided in, hospital care and treatments have a great deal of difference depending on affiliations and personnel. Getting to know ones Doctor, where they studied, under whom, actual experiences, number of patients, education, research causes, etc. etc... all factor into the equation. Word of mouth helps too.

I want to be somewhat near Shenandoah nat park. Plan to hike a lot if I’m able. Right now looking west of the mt, but might expand the search.

43F, very windy, and mostly cloudy ... but the sun is peeking out occasionally ... (y)

Lots of bird activity out around the feeders today ... they must know it's coming ... ;)

Plenty of hospitals nearby in this area. Closest is maybe a little over 10 minutes away (Barberton Citizens), at least another half dozen or so options, several of which are much larger, are within 20 - 30 minutes. And that doesn't include a number of affiliated outpatient facilities which seem to have sprung up over the last 10 or so years.

The Woman has secured us a couple of appointments for COVID testing tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully her car will be done by then.

Ohio set an all-time record for COVID hospitalizations yesterday.

Not much on agenda for the rest of this afternoon, probably conserve a little energy ... ;)
