Keweenaw snow photos

We might have got 5 or 6" overnight. It was marginally enough to be out and knock down.

A couple of Yooper friends refer to 6" to 8" of snow as a dusting.

Since I can't live in the Keweenaw much as I'd like to, and I do heed what "Houle" says , my annual goal is to ride on Thanksgiving. That failed so I will settle this year for Thanksgiving weekend! Jjeff, there's the coveted Bravo LT.....

I live around 40 miles from Arly. We don't get quite as much snow as he does. I keep track of my tractor hours in the winter for lube purposes. I usually get around 37 to over 40 hours each winter, but the winter of 20/21 I only got 16 hours. Very strange year for snow.

Also this the second time I've seen frost in the fields. We always get snow before the ground freezes.

Our current forecast looks promising.. Pods will be installed on the 6x6 boss on Saturday and might be rolling trails on Sunday.

NOAA just issued us a winter storm warning. No lake effect snow acording to these wind directions. High winds is the only thing I don't like...

Snow, mainly after 8am. The snow could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow after noon. High near 31. Breezy, with a southeast wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches possible.
Sunday Night
Snow before 1am, then snow showers, mainly after 1am. Patchy blowing snow after 4am. Low around 20. Blustery, with a south wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Monday
Snow showers. Patchy blowing snow. Temperature falling to around 13 by 4pm. Blustery, with a northwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

My boss called and shut down work today. Its blowing hard from the NW which is giving us lake snow. I need to be home pushing snow today anyway. I'll try getting a few pics for you guys today.

How long ago was that? I was gone for 42 years and that might have been the restaurant that was next to Tige's Bar.

And a nice lightweight 380 doo shorty! I've also have a doo 440 fanner lt ran circles around a buddies newer 600 renegade in off trail powder at slower speeds.

Went to the store.

At the store, the sun at 2 in the afternoon. Lake effect clouds are thin.

Loading up at home. Who needs snow tires??!!
We have two sets of rims and run steel plain ones over the winter with snows on them.

Out on the trails we care for. Could it get any more pretty than this? We got about 10 inches overnight.

Near as I can remember it was the mid 1990’s. We also loved eating at Mt. Shasta.

I stand corrected (by my wife!) it was the Northland Cafe. Nothing fancy just great food.
