40F and cloudy @ 18:00, headed down to a low of 35F overnight.

Just came in a bit ago, trying to warm my feet up ... ;)

Went in and got my flu shot the other day, also managed to schedule a COVID booster for this coming week.

Hauled some more of that siding from the demo up to the can at the road earlier along with some white formica that came off chipboard countertop. The countertop had been dumped in a brush pile out back and the chipboard had more or less disintegrated. When I pushed the pile with the grapple a couple of months ago the formica ended up coming to the top.

Also collected the mail while I was up at the road.

Beyond that, I emptied out the dump cart and then spent the afternoon doing more leaf blowing/clean up:

Got it pretty much done.

Towards the end I used the Stihl blower to clean off all the leaves off the deck on the Cub before putting it away.

Grabbed the deer corn feeder while I was out there and brought it in and got it hosed off in the stationary tub in the basement. Will put that up tomorrow most likely.

Last thing was to fill hopper, two sunflower tube, and one suet feeder.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Inventory went pretty good...we were done by about 1230.
On the way home, I picked up some diesel for the Gator...and, some gasoline since I used the mower after winterizing a couple weeks back. I've read it's best to winterize with a full tank, so that's what I've always done.
Tomorrow, I'll fill the Gator's tank and rearrange the garage so my stepdaughter can park her car inside when it snows (no snow, parked outside regardless of the temperature).
Also, a good time to get the salt spreader ready...won't dump any salt in the hopper yet though

Just had some delicious cabbage for dinner...and, since I've been up since about 0230 this morning, I think it's time to lie down down a while...

Gheez, Step, sorry about your loss. Scares the heck out of people when they hear that a fully vaxed person dies anyway. Did he have any comorbidities at all?
Not that I am aware of; the normal mid 60's aching bones mostly. He was an avid outdoorsman in excellent shape...

Thanks for the nice comments fellas. I think camping would be a lot more organised that what we are going through at present. We have a chap doing most of the work inside and he is very fussy so we are happy with his work.
Weekend, so barn work has stopped till Monday. It is getting close. Just the front and doors and a couple of gutters and flashings so it shouldn't be long.
I carried a few buckets of dirt in front of one bay ready for gravel. I can't do the others until I replace a irrigation pipe and tap.
Big rain downpour last night and even though there are no flashings yet, there was no rain penetration into the barn.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 25° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 42° with a good chance of rain/Sno* in afternoon. Got my haircut yesterday. Makes feel much better when hair in not is my eyes. Sassy came out of hiding and got a bath. Worked on pole rack for Mule. Going to try to work on it again today.
Did not take long for most pf the leaves to drop off trees in woods.

Alien, you will be parking vehicles in barn soon.

Drew, nice job on the walkway.

Buckeye, you will enjoy the hose reel next year.

RNG, hope you got trans back together without problems.

Rich, keep the reports coming. Glad you have recovered to make theses reports. I always get a giggle when you report customer service events. I did it for 40 years.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

30 going to 57.

Alien, are you familiar with our Ft Knox? Looks like your barn will be just as strong.

Finally wired in a new exhaust fan motor for the kitchen. Couldn't get to it before I had my surgery, but had ordered the new motor. Could never find an exact replacement, so I already knew the new motor, the frame and the fan blade shaft were going to need some modifications to fit. It all worked out and was able to "crawl" up into the hood without removing the stove to do the drilling and wiring.

When done, I go to take a shower last night and find no hot water...so I need to trouble shoot...some of the reviews on Amazon about the water heater thermostat I installed recently said it dies after a month or so. But it was the best one I could find. May me something different. Fortunately, we have a second water heater that supplies most of the house...this bad one gets a feed from the geothermal, and then delivers its hot water to the master bath and then to the other hot water heater.

Taking my wife in for a covid test this morning. Appointments were unavailable yesterday. She has worse than a cold.

Good morning all. 36 going up to 56 today, nice weather

headed to church, then sucking up more leaves. Starting to get to the end of leaves.

Wingsprd, good luck with your wife today, hope she feels better soon.

I'm a little sore from yesterday so hope to take it easy today.

need to remember to put electric heater in living room on timer. It was cold in there yesterday afternoon and I turned on heater,
and forgot to turn it off. Nice and warm this morning, no cold feet walking to kitchen to make coffee, then it dawned on me you dumbie you
left the heater on all night. Couple bucks down the drain, could be worse.
My electric bill in this little cottage was 95 dollars last month. No complaints.

36° right now...high in the upper 40's today.
Today's chores were already posted in #141,364 (Good morning!!!!) so no need to rehash them here

Drew, you need to get some nice warm slippers!!
These do pretty nicely:
Only downside is Margeaux thinks they're great chew toys so I gotta watch her around my slippers

Alien, that is one great looking barn!! Boy, would I love something like that!

   / Good morning!!!! #141,372
Alien, that barn is an inspiration to us all.
What tall equipment is going in the higher area? Do you have a combine or something big to go in there?

I always wanted to have a dream man cave on the farm. Place to work on cars, machinery, full hvac for comfort.
Never got it, spent money on tractors instead.
Floor lift, wash bay, nice stereo system and a place for a couple guys to sit down. Maybe a wood shop on one end
with a big vac system to keep it clean. And a wood stove.

I believe a couple of folks on tbn have some amazing man caves.
Popgadget's garage second floor is cool with his musical instruments set up there.
Downstairs is stuffed full of tools and about two hundred Makita battery packs. ;)
And a really big dog if you aren't supposed to be there. And attack alpacas.

PJ, if you come East, go visit Paul and the two Pauls can make some music together.
I'll run the tape recorder...
Actually PJ, you're becoming a pro at mixing and laying down those tracks.
Could be fun.

roy, good idea. I have a pair, by the bed too...have to remember to put them on.
But no dog to chew them. Margeaux, be good.

   / Good morning!!!! #141,373
Good morning, low temp 34 and going to a high of 37°F. Wind ESE 6 mph. 30% chance of rain.

Nice looking barn, Alien.

Nice shot of a woodpecker, Ron.

I might go out and take some measurements for the curl cylinders today. They are a little weak. I did check the pressure on the hydraulic system (2500 psi) at the power beyond/3rd function port, so that is a relief. I don't have to monkey with the relief valve.

Other than taking the measurements, I don't think I will be doing anything.

Have a safe day all

Wngsprd, hope wife is ok. Prayers.

That is a nice looking barn, I need a tall bay for a camper to fit, it stays outside and the sun really takes a toll.

Started my pellet stove for first time this season last night.

I haven’t counted in a while, but I’m pretty sure that there is a lot fewer than 200 batteries. And the big dog (who is lying on the bed next to me) will only lick you and show you where the treats are stored. And I have often thought that it would be fun to get together with PJ.

It’s a good morning here, 35 outside going to over 50 with only a chance of rain. Son is down in the barn taking take of the alpacas in my wife’s absence, dog is taking advantage of empty spot in the bed. Son and I are going out to breakfast when he is done.

Yesterday was a pretty lazy day, took the battery out of the little airplane in preparation for the new one to arrive. It’s about the size of a U1 garden tractor battery, and $300. Probably cheaper than if it said boat battery on it though…..

Celebration of life for friend was a good time for all, with a few sad moments. A lot of music played, curiously there were 4 bass players there, so everyone got a break. Usually in these situations the one bassist plays all night, like the one drummer did last night. I’m guessing it was because so many bassists played with him, bass and drums usually work as a team forming the foundation.

Not much on the agenda after breakfast today, I had set up a remote switch that receives a cellular text signal to turn the engine heater on for the little plane, and it’s not working. I suspect that I let the prepaid SIM card run out of funds from monthly minimum charges rather than usage over the summer.

Good morning! 34 now, 44 later. Rain is on the way.

Wood burner has the house quite comfy. Apparently the one cat thinks, she has been on the hearth rug all morning.

Seems the farmer’s idea of 2 loads of wood and my idea is a bit different. Got most of it in the HF trailer, a little bit in the truck. The poor trailer was a bit overloaded again. Took it easy coming home. All split and stacked. Ironic, 1 year before, I wanted to split wood but didn’t to rest up from not feeling good off and on all week.

Thanks Ron, not sure anyone enjoys those stories. Since I gave them a sell by date, seems I have lost more patience. And yes, happy to be still here to relate what happened. It is odd, but I had suppressed a lot of those things, but those memories are back and quite vivid in my mind. There was some periods of brain fog, so not sure I will remember those days or even the right day.

1 year ago today was when everything went pear shaped. I barely slept Saturday night, had a fever (101+), my body ached, and the cough started. I am guessing this was the first sign of the Covid pneumonia had started. I was miserable and weak all day. That fever may not sound that high, but my normal temperature is 97.3. Late on Sunday was when I started having GI tract issues.it really went downhill from here.

Everyone stay safe out there

Good Morning!!!! 59F @ 8:00AM. Sunny. High 66F. Winds light and variable.
The 10-day is calling for showers the last day in November.

Was a load supposed to be a cord, Rich? Shouldn't be much debate if it was, but then again, if it's free, who cares? Did your sense of taste/smell completely recover yet?

Barn looks good, Doug. Will it have electricity when it's done?

I've had good luck storing gasoline engines dry, Drew. I worry that the modern gas, even E0, will still go after the rubber and plastic parts.

I was wrong about which was the hot wire in that junction box for the pump house flood light, but a few minutes work with a DVM got that straightened out. Still need to add the switch to Homekit, but I'll do that while the oats are cooking this morning.

Installed the new bushing and last bearing on the transmission input shaft yesterday, too, and now it's ready to go back together. Once my buddy gets here, we'll watch the reassembly part of a video, then follow the factory manual to keep us on the right track.

Sounded like someone was pounding on the front door this morning, and it looks like that yellow flicker poked a big hole in the kitchen window screen. It's days are numbered if the damage continues.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!
