I wasn't referring to mechanics. I was told years ago by a true Harley rider that it's crazy to patch a bike tire.
Where do you think he get that "knowledge" from?

Have ridden with many "True Harley Riders". When they get a puncture in their tire they are very thankful for my plug kit and inflator. "We can be rolling in 30 minutes or you can wait 2 hours for the flatbed truck." I plug, they forget the FUD and enjoy the rest of the ride.

Saw several weeks later and asked if he get a new tire. "Saw no point, it is holding air."

I had the bad luck a few years ago to get a puncture in a tire with just over 200 miles. Plugged it from the outside. Rode it bald before replacing.

Who in their right mind changes their oil at
1864.114 which is 3000 k's??????????? Ford
recommended 7500 miles for an oil change a
whole lot of difference to figure for the price of
oil changes!

The battery pack on the Model 3 is made up of 4 modules, so the estimated price for a pack replacement is a whopping $20,000-$28,000. And the labor is not included or any extra parts that need to be replaced! Almost have the price of a brand new gas
car!

a more accurate low estimate for an uncomplicated replacement of the Model Y’s battery pack would be around $11,000-$13,000.

So what happens if you battery pack is not covered under warranty
and you have to pay out of your pocket in a year or two????

And this is not always a true figure because some things have to be replaced

and the price goes up.

Don't know where you got that oil change mileage from.

As for batteriee, they are designed last the life of the vehicles, like an engine and those fails too, like mine did and it would have been a electric car, it would still have been under warranty repair, but nope, used one was $8,000.

This picture was taken behind the service bays of my Hyundai dealer. Notice all the engines sitting there...

Battery is $5,000 to $7,000 (US) , I'm still up by at least $15,000, if it needs to be replaced by then. My 2013 Tucson engine failed last August. Cost to replace it with a used engine was $8,000. I scrapped it for $1,000 and bought the Tesla.

Tesla car batteries are designed to last 300,000-500,000 miles which is way more than I expect to keep the car.
Time will tell how many people are getting 300K+ on the OE pack. I'm hearing of some replacements already, albeit not many.

I'd be interested to know what's failing on those Hyundai's. Poking around rockauto, those still seemed to be mpfi. I'd be less surprised at failure if they were gdi.

Many people won't hang onto EVs past the warranty.... I frame it similar to marketing/owning cell phones....

I expect your T will serve you well, Enjoy !

Why the change the subject from Tesla quality of battery packs! :)
Point is if something fails I question the integrity of the whole thing.
For years I've had a Hyundai Accent for daily driving. 10yr/100K warranty, mpg around 35+. MSRP starts at $15,400. You can buy two for the least expensive EV.
Now...wait for the EV lover's explosion

Not joking. Would suit my needs, and I'd actually get a "new" car with a decent greenhouse.

This is fresh from the Germany factory tour. You can see there are no battery modules like has been the case since perhaps Model 3. Notice how seats are mounted on the center sturctual casting that holds the batteries so when battery goes in those seats are installed by default.
