I put a Nimco knob in my L3240, it stuck up a little higher then i like, I'm planning on cutting down the joystick slightly to lower it.

This is the only picture I have of it right now but should give you an idea on how high it is.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll get a pic of mine and post it.

FWIW. Here's the result after adding the WR Long 3rd Function knob and switch.

The top of the joystick stem is right where the shiny button bolt is on the back of this new knob. After putting a tape measure on it I can see why it feels so high. The new one sits 3.5" higher than the original. That shiny bolt sits right on top of the joystick rod and is meant to keep the wiring and terminals above it from contacting the joystick metal, per EA and WR Long instructions.

I can adjust it, but looks like that would be worth mentioning in the description and installation instructions.

It's definitely in the way for a right-side entry. Where did you get a new stick? The OEM is a solid steel rod with a couple 90 degree bends and threaded on the bottom.
Just a round head bolt i had with the same threads. And a tube sleeve to cover the exposed threads. I posted a pic of it somewhere here on TBN.

Got it. Thanks!

Is that knob held on with set screws? If so, would seem to be real easy to shorten it to where you like it. Even if threaded, it's still not hard. Just takes a little more time. Definitely too high for my taste. I would take out 2" so the base of the knob is right down to the elbow.

Yes -- set screws. The rod is only threaded on the bottom and it's just a smooth steel rod to the handle on top.

I've got it threaded down as far as I can at the bottom without binding the movement. Just a locknut holds it in place at the bottom under the rubber boot.

I'm with you. Going to have to cut about 3" off the top and just reinstall. Simple fix but unexpected. I was just surprised that I hadn't heard others in this grumpy bunch complain about it when discussing their 3rd function upgrades. ;)

OK. I cut this joystick down and all is well. Took 2.5" off the OEM loader lever. That gets me pretty close to within 1/2" of where it originally was.

Just a heads-up to anyone installing one of the WR Long kits. Don't be surprised if you need to cut/shorten your loader joystick lever since this handle adds 3.5" to the height.

I think the new 3rd function outlets attached to the bracket on the loader torque tube are a definite upgrade from the hoses that I have routed from the rear remote -- and easier to use! (Rear remote hoses tied to front grill guard still shown . . . )

EA included fasteners and bolts to secure the hoses along the loader arm too. That was a nice touch!

Thanks for the link! Didn't find that when searching before. I see that you had the same obvious problem with the joystick needing to be lowered quite a bit. Your solution looks like it worked great.

I have cut down the joystick handle on a few different tractors. ITs easy to do to make the tractor more ergonomic and function for yourself. Nothing is worse than doing loader work all day with controls that put your arm in an uncomfortable position
