Shorten joystick after adding 3rd Function Kit??

I just installed the WR Long 3rd Function Kit on a cab model Kubota L5740. Seems to work great and installation is pretty straightforward.

However, because the new joystick knob with button sits a couple inches higher it now seems like the joystick handle is just way too high. I haven't seen anyone mention the need to lower or shorten the joystick as part of the 3rd function addition.

Just wondering if anyone has found the need to cut the joystick rod to lower the knob/handle after adding an aftermarket 3rd function???

(There is a little bit of adjustment using a locknut on the bottom of the joystick so I gained close to a half inch there already.)

I put a new short stick on mine just so i could get on/off the right side. No 3rd funct button, though.

It's definitely in the way for a right-side entry. Where did you get a new stick? The OEM is a solid steel rod with a couple 90 degree bends and threaded on the bottom.

I put a Nimco knob in my L3240, it stuck up a little higher then i like, I'm planning on cutting down the joystick slightly to lower it.

This is the only picture I have of it right now but should give you an idea on how high it is.
