Left turn on 2 lane. Stay in R/H lane or L/H to let cars continue on?

This discussion has me questioning whether we need bigger brake lights or brighter turn signals.

Or maybe bigger windshields so drivers can see what's happening in front of them.
How about people who actually use their turn signals properly and drivers who spend their time looking out the windshield... preferably at the road?

B only, and if someone is ridding my ass and tailgating I'll start slowing down sooner.
I have 2 left turns that I have to use frequently, one is on a state road with a 55 mph limit,
many idiots running at 65 and some faster, rural two lane uphill and down with lots of curves.
The other one is in a 45 mph zone with many people going over 55 mph.
I shake my head and laugh in disbelief at the way many idiots drive when approaching or over taking
tractors and wide equipment on the highway.

Some drivers really get irritated when we are road hauling with tractors and forage wagon.
When approaching that left turn with a tractor and wagon around a 100 feet before the turn I will move over
a few feet to the left so that I am slightly straddle the center line markings of the road, being ready move back
completely into my lane if traffic suddenly appears coming towards me from a blind spot that I know is there.
Then I will slow down to a safe speed to make the complete turn staying in my lane because of traffic
popping into view on the rural so called 2 lane with no center stripe and a full 18 feet wide.
If I have to stop and wait for traffic it can be a long wait sometimes.

B is the only choice for me.

So if you're doing this move into the left lane to avoid getting rear ended or making the person behind you slow down thing, what do you do when you want to turn right?

Or maybe more stringent requirements for a drivers license.

Ditch it!

There are no roads locally that have enough visibility to do 'A'. 'B' is what's normal and expected everywhere. 'A' can confuse people. I think the most polite thing you can do if you're making a left turn and there is someone behind you is to signal early. If I'm the one behind I will drop back when they signal to give them plenty of room, and so I don't have to slow quite as much or as suddenly.
^^This sums it up for me too. Back in the old days many people would and could do "A", but in today's world, I do "B". I use my signal early so people can plan for my turn.

C. Given the premise, I pull over to the right to let traffic pass and then turn when all is clear. If no one is behind me, I do B. If I am not hauling a trailer, I do B.

If I am going slower than the posted limit, or even the normal flow speed, I'll pull over to let someone pass if at all possible. Daddy taught me to avoid being a jack wagon. Slowing down in traffic because you don't like someone else's speed is a jack move. Always figure if someone is going that much faster than me, it must be more important that what I am doing. Pull to the side and let it go. You never know why they are going fast, or if this is the guy who just got dumped or is clinically depressed. Let the sheriff get him later, for now, pull to the side and everyone lives.

When I have to drive equipment on a road (years ago), I hug the right side as much as possible. That gives traffic the better opportunity to pass when they can.

This thread reminds me of one of my stupid guilty pleasures - watching car crash compilation videos on Youtube. (Idiots on Wheels is my favorite channel.)

A common crash scenario is people doing odd improvised passing maneuvers, particularly at intersections. If there is not an actual passing lane, it tends to work a whole lot betting to just have a little patience and wait in line, IMHO.

it makes a huge difference "Who" does such things (as A.)
