I'm guessing the textured ring is unscrewed - is there a tool for this or do I just grab it with some channel-lock pliers?
It does not appear to have any spanner connections so I would give it a bit of light pressure with Channel Locks or a small strap wrench. It was more than finger tight. Is there a tool for it?

Thanks! I'll try a light grip maybe with some tape on the jaws with my channel locks and then if that fails I'll look for that spanner. Reminds me of a bottom bracket lock ring tool for older bicycles...Spanner
or, if you're careful, Gripping Pliers / Filter Pliers

Using a rag works as well. Main thing it not to squeeze too hard. Thanks! I'll try a light grip maybe with some tape on the jaws with my channel locks and then if that fails I'll look for that spanner. Reminds me of a bottom bracket lock ring tool for older bicycles...
You better be ready for a spill if you remove the hose from that side. That's why the shut off valve is there.Shut the fuel valve off, remove the fuel hose on the shut off side,...
But I read it on the internet! You better be ready for a spill if you remove the hose from that side. That's why the shut off valve is there.![]()
If YOU can't figure out which hose to remove don't give specific info that is wrong. The OP would have had a 50-50 chance without being led in the wrong direction.I guess I should have worded my response differently, to make it very clear for those that cann,t figure out which side won,t leak fuel once the shut-off has been turned. If the OP cann,t figure out which hose to remove, probably time to call in expensive help to figure it out for him. Around here, you,re probably looking at 100 bucks an hour.
I would be afraid of the screwdriver slipping and possibly damaging something. I have a large pair of channel locks that I would try first.I made a short video on the screwdriver technique. Hope this helps.
