A few years ago we went to an indoor go-kart track with electric go-karts. It was me, my kid, my friend, and his kid. That's it. The place was empty. After several laps, all of a sudden my car and the other dad's car took off like lightning. We looked over at the guy controlling the track and he gave us the thumbs-up.... he'd taken the limiters off remotely. (y) It was weird accelerating so fast and only hearing a little whine from the drivetrain. No engine noise. Really fun.
It is amazing when regulators take limits off, what we can acheive

Could this be an indication that future max speed limits on the road are controlled by remote means. Maybe also taxes based on mileage of the vehicles will be comming?

Yep & yep.
Nothing would shock me with the waves of regulation you see in the last year.
Did you know that planned traffic jams are being proposed to encourage, or better put “force” people onto public transportation?

Wyoming already taxes EV's based on mileage. Taxes are set at a vehicle getting 15MPG. So, no EV for me.

Hey that all rhymes!

Seriously?

Got a reference to that story?

And what will the environmentally oriented think of that plan? Will it be more justification for EVs?

<shaking head><facepalm>

Wow! 15MPG? That’s a shocker!
Kinda flies in the face of the guys claiming they are the equivalent of ~30MPG.
If Buttigeig goes the way of Wyoming, no EV for me, either!

Just heard it yesterday for the first time on radio news at the top of the hour.

Well, it's kind of expected. Wyoming is a major fossil fuel producer that will never be on board with the EV bandwagon.

So to own/drive an EV in Wyoming is like flying an Antifa flag on your front yard.

Cults are something that I find interesting. The ICE vs EV cults can get down right entertaining. Both have favorite fact attachments to spin over and over.

After viewing that tube I need to sell my ICE before it has no value.

Good point but you should have some time.

I have noticed Nissan is pushing 84 month loans. They actually did get a loan from Japan for like $2 billion dollars to sell their cars on subprime loans.

Three or four years down the road when the EV version is as cheap or cheaper than the gas version the owners will still be upside down in the loan. Dealers will not want their gas used cars to put on their lot because their sales of EVS will be increasing and they will be a glut of gas cars four or five years down the road. If a person will be able to afford the gas there'll be some really cheap car deals on the marketplace especially from the rental car places I expect.

I wonder when the car rental companies will start to transition their fleet to more EVs than ICE,

In the U.S. there are 275 million ICE vehicles on the road.
Tesla will soon be producing a million EVs a year.
In 15 years the majority of vehicles produced by other manufactures will be EV, but
In what year will the majority of the vehicles on the road be EV?

I'm thinking 25 years (2046) at the earliest. Any other predictions with numbers?
