Well me & a friend pulled the trigger today on a pair of new leftover 2018 ZD1511 72” SD Mowers.
Now I’ll have a his & HERS units 🤣

I originally had a Dealer deliver me a ZD1211 for a backup mower.
the salesman goofed up sending a little 60” deck so I sent the driver back with it

Zero turns are not a typical ride on, there is additional value there. A lot of money for something that is of good quality, is worth it, but is not necessarily expensive. Costly repairs on cheap, old, or inferior products, is expensive however. If I didn't already have my BX23S, I would take another look at zero - turns, or Ventrac, or Steiner.

I am seriously looking at a Country Clipper consumer model for my 1.5 acres of grass. Not lawn by any stretch of the imagination, more like field, but I have a 40° hill to cut up. The dealer told me that the CC would go up the hill "no problem" but to cut along the hill he wouldn't put any guarantees on it.
The dealer is only 15 miles from me and he will deliver. Price? Just over 6 grand all in cdn.

Can you compare the need to clean radiator on side vs. your previous rear discharge ?? Less often?
The RD mower requires dumping radiator screen WAY MORE OFTEN than SD.

I Had to clean RD radiator screen every 2hrs or keep a close eye on temp.

the horn will let you know lol

The SD will easily mow 6hrs in dusty conditions w/o having to stop & clean screen.

I love RD concept but would never go back to one on a Zero mower.

Thanks for the info. I found that ..I .. got way dirtier with our previous side discharge. If I was going east .. with a south wind .. I was covered with grass and dust. That was the major reason I went rear discharge with our ZD-1211.

Seems there's NO PERFECT zero turn?

I’ve had 3 different brands / sizes of Rear Finishing Mowers with RD for my tractors & they didn’t windrow BUT their not slinging clippings into wide tires like a zero to deflect AND pack down by running over the clippings.

That’s why I went RD on my First Zero because the RFM didn’t windrow at all. Lesson Learned.

Different Animals.

I do get way dirtier on these Side Discharge Zero’s

if this ZD1511 4cyl Turbo had 37-39hp AND a 84” SD single deck : it would be the PERFECT ZERO for my application 🤣

I'm guessing the same 72" decks are used for both ZD1211 and ZD1511 so .. with all the ZD1511's extra HP .. should be no problem to power an 84" deck .. now .. if they'd just design one.

Yes exact same 60 & 72” decks on ZD1211 & ZD1511 both.

I’ve probably mentioned in a previous post but the 1211 has sufficient power with 72” deck on level ground IF your cutting weekly.

I’m cutting steep hills & banks every 1.5-2wks here on my farm & it really choked the lil 3cyl down pretty bad for my application.

I’ve heard a lot of good things on Scag.

I was a RD only buyer for some years after many years of SD experience. Now after many years experience of RD and SD I'm a convert to SD with mulching kit. I've got a ZD1211 and F2690 now with SD with mulching kit and it is my new way to go. I just blow the slight cut grass accumulation off the top of the deck with a leaf blower and blow off the rest of the dust accumulation on the machine/seats/foot deck and intake screens. I don't get grass blowing on me, don't get a battery covered with grass, don't get clogged screens, can mow up against grass/trees/stuff on both sides and don't get the SD windrows.

Did you buy the Liberty Z from Gilford Hardware in NH?
I think the Liberty Z is the best bang for the buck in the ZT market.
I bought mine from Gilford Hdwr. last Fall (no tax).

JM hayden in new Hampshire. I almost bought a bobcat crz from east coast lumber but it's the old body style. They are selling the crz now as the zt2000 in white but no one has them in stock. I got this liberty z 61" otd for 5k and 0% interest finance

I paid $4410 otd cash, for the 48" last August.
I am sure you will love your Liberty Z as I do.
I am 80 though, and have a rough lawn.
It is a very rough ride!

I bought a 52" Scag Cheetah from JM Hayden in Newfields, NH 3 years ago. It rides very smoothly and I love it - but I realize it's a little different suspension set-up. I would think that a quality suspension seat would help to smooth out your very rough ride!
