Good Morning
It’s 61 here according to my Tempest weather station. The Davis station shows 61.2, so I will ever actually know what the temperature is. The forecast high is 75 and windy.

Other than shop time, I did get the smoker fired up, it should be done before lunchtime. It’s got a little more than 20lbs of pork shoulders in it for pulled pork. It’s great having a smoker with an automated draft fan. Once the dampers are set about right, I can fire it up and go to bed. It keeps the temp better than my electric stove, and can burn for at least 16 hours on one load of lump charcoal. These shoulders will be done later this morning.

Guess what’s on the lunch menu?
When it comes to BBQ, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess. My hat's off to you, Paul. It appears you've found the ultimate BBQ solution! 👏👏👏

Now all we need are some "after" photos...😄

46°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 61° today. Mid-to-upper-70s predicted for tomorrow.

My new PFD came in yesterday. Well, both of them . Sometimes, Amazon is a goofy place to do business. With temps approaching 80° tomorrow, we may be tempted to put the new kayaks in some water somewhere for their maiden voyage.

I'll never understand how some automotive engineers justify some of the things they design into newer vehicles. Fuel filter in the tank? That's even worse than having to remove a front wheel just to get the battery out. With some of these things, it's obvious that those people have never actually built or repaired anything in the life.

Paul, I can understand a large mesh filter in the tank, but where's the fine micron filter inline?
that's just nuts. I have no idea what was in the gas at Sheetz, can hardly get a larger volume gas retailer
that has faster turnover than perhaps a major truckstop. But I shouldn't have to worry; where's my filter?

As I was looking at the fancy new ETron electric cars Audi has, I was thinking no fuel filters in them either...
The problem with the new EV cars is almost no one but the dealers can work on them. Everything is proprietary.
I think the number of Prius out on the road today, over a million? , plus Tesla means a lot more independent shops will start
specializing in EV once the current batch goes out of warranty. But I think Tesla restricts availability of parts, pays to research this.

On the Ford Ranger you have to remove a panel in the wheel well to change the oil filter.

On the Kia Stinger you have to remove the spare tire to get to the battery under it.

Good morning all.
This week we had some concrete poured around our doors so we won't be tracking mud into the house anymore. Wife is happy! The contractor started work at 3am! Seeing as how he's so backed up with work it's taken 4 months for him to get to me, I wasn't about to complain. I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep though.

The seeds in the garden are beginning to poke thru the dirt. It'll be interesting to see what actually comes up. Some are from the BB store and looked kinda dried out when I opened them. I wonder if they're from the previous year and have been sitting in the warehouse.

I got my first Covid shot yesterday. Other than a sore arm, no after effects.

I'm off to a neighbor's funeral (not covid related) shortly. He was 89.

All secured and ready to come down. Loggers did a heck of a job keeping it from falling at all.My garage is up on the left.(view is from neighbor's yard.)
56 and raining so cleanup will wait till it's nicer.

Good morning all.

Mmm, no precise weather info from me today, you will just have to guess if it is "wet-n-windy" or "windy-and-wet".

RNG, pennwalk, nice try at deflection, but I reckon we could be in trouble if arto suspects how much we make from weather. Gang, don't forget those weather station sponsorships have been our most lucrative deals since Wng had to drop the 3M mask placements when Muhamad became suspicious. Don, Sodamo, no product names for the rest of the week, give it a few days and this should blow over. :)

You just had to “pour” it on.

daugen, is it safe to say that Sheetz gas in VA is the sheetz?

I guess I could have called it Imperial Oil instead of Esso. My uncle was a comptroller for Imperial, they shipped him all over the country.

Sheetz is a PA company. They took over this area 20 yrs ago, lots of them. Almost all gas stations in this area get their fuel from the depot in Baltimore.

They do it to reduce manufacturing and assembly costs...not for maintainability

here isn't a lot of difference in gasoline regardless of the brand. The dispensing statation has filters on there pumps how well they maintain them is going to be a major factor in the quality of fuel you get. If they do not maintain them the bypass will open and the fuel doesn't get the final filtration it should. Any manufacture that doesn't provide a resonably priced and accessible filter needs to be boycott in a well advertised manner to get there attention. I certainly wouldn't want the government involved that would be a $1000 filter that only an "upper level" establishment would be allowed to change. All of the current crop of vehicles and it doesn't matter if they have 2 wheels or 10 have too much technology that is proprietary and the manufactures don't believe that you own it when you purchase it.

onions planted, Texas Sweet
Now I have way too many left over, think I only had room for about 35 out of the 150.
I think I'm going to trade Popgadget some onions and squash plants for a little
of that pulled pork. I'm not so sure how much sun Ken has for a garden but for my two locals,
I'm bound to have left over plants here.

65°F and no rain.

No luck with my Dish Joeys. I don’t think they actually power on, no led. As much as I hate to guess I’ll have to call. This system was installed in 2011 so likely should consider an upgrade. My monthly fee has crept up from $103 to $160 for same service. Insane.
Sadly no viable alternative.

Would really like my dealer to surprise me with my tractor today but he said next Tue most likely.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Yesterday, I worked in the shop all day, never left the property. Looks like I’ll be in there for a while, 2 more speaker orders came in tomorrow. I suspect that the flurry of activity is due to things starting to open up, with live music returning. Maybe it’s what musicians are doing with their stimulus checks.

Guess what’s on the lunch menu?

Time for an English muffin and then off to the shop to make some sawdust.

Nice, Paul
I have a BBQ Guru on my Primo. Once set, just forget it.

I had a restless night with lots of crazy dreams, maybe it was the pork roast.

Maybe it was the vaccine starting to take over your brain. Can you say Zombie apocalypse.

Chris

I have had a craving for brains but I can’t find anybody with them.
