Good morning!!!!

67°F and .07 inches rain. Slept in a bit. Seem to be having some reaction to my 2nd Moderna. Chills during the night, woke up with sore arm. Feeling a bit achy, headache, and generally blah right now. Sophie had the chills and took an ibuprofen early than me and says she is feeling much better. The end of that storm is coming in from Oahu so a good excuse for energy conservation. Shot process was as good as last time, smooth. Same friends showed up just like first shots with 6 of us early, some of us more than hour early. No matter, no wait, awesome with all the clinic folks with great attitudes.
A bit disappointed with the documentation, simple computer print out. Sophie did get hers annotated in her yellow shot record. Will be interesting to see how “proof” is instituted.

Glad to read others here doing well medically and otherwise. Seemed like I was never going to get caught up reading yesterday and by the time I did the day was over for most of you. I haven’t read through today yet and likely find I’m still behind.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Don, haven’t read the details about those 3 cases yet. Terrible to assume, but if I did I’d guess they weren’t playing safe during the shot period. Of course we all know the shots aren’t 100% against getting the virus, just the outcome.

Seems to be lack of detail except the travelling medical person.

Ted, likely so on the compensating. Hopefully your PT will check your gait.

Have to admit to some reservation regarding the stimulus checks, but that won’t prevent me from accepting or spending. I’m already mentally claiming it bought me a Tempest weather station

Not to be political, just an observation, I am more concerned about the media hype that 70% of people approve. I’m willing to guess that 90% of those 70% cannot cite at least 2 provisions of the bill that they don’t benefit from personally.

Assuming the polling referred to is accurate, what concerns you about it ?

I’m willing to guess that 90% of those 70% cannot cite at least 2 provisions of the bill that they don’t benefit from personally.

Extended unemployment benefits and the COBRA subsidies.

;)

txdon said, "Bird That pending deposit may be something else. The stimulus checks would have totaled $2,800. I have not received any notification as of this morning. I too am running the A/C."

And of course you're right. It DOES say, $2800; don't know how I managed to type $2400.

Sorry, not going down there. Reread what I wrote.

Congrats, you are in the 10%.

But you are right I should have said “ cannot cite at least 2 provisions of the bill that they don’t benefit from personally or hyped in the news report which usually only mentions “money”coming to individuals.

Good to here that you are doing ok David. We got an email from our primary care physician this morning that they will begin administering Moderna vaccine this Monday. My wife qualifies as 1C and I’ll wait list.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

A friend of mine had a weird problem with his Cessna a couple of days ago. He is an aeronautical engineer. He took off from a local field to fly home and a flap jammed. This caused the plane to go into a very tight turn. He struggled with it and found that he had to use opposite aileron and rudder to fly straight. He headed for home as he has a large strip with wind in the right direction. He couldn't land where he had just left from as it had a cross wind and it would not have been possible to correct for that. He found keeping speed at 80 knots was the only speed he could control the plane. His landing was very fast and he used up the full strip with none to spare.
On inspection the flap had split and burned out the flap motor. It was also badly twisted. The motor should never have burned as it has protection circuits. It also works both flaps together. None of what happened makes sense. Cessna people are working with him trying to work it out. He is a very lucky man. He owns 2 Cessnas and a Citabria.
Please tell your friend to give the Citabria to a museum and park it.

A man I loved died in one. They have a wooden fuselage that is prone to cracking. He was a retired Air Force Lt-Col, and had about 10000 hours. He bought the plane to teach his daughter, me, and do some light aerobatics. He was taking another man up, to teach him a bit, and no one knows exactly what happened. The plane augered in. Many suspect the fuselage frame cracked. It was, but unsure what caused it.

What concerns me is the $5500. It’s going to cost each taxpayer for that $1400. Also, I’m not a big fan of bailing out the states that got in financial trouble from decades of poor management and more recently from poor handing of the pandemic.

That’s all I intend to say on it.

41F and clear @ 18:45, headed down to an overnight low of overnight low of 36F.

Hopper, two sunflower tube, and squirrel feeder refilled (but only halfway) ... plus four suet cake cake feeders as well. Disconnected the bird bath ... still need to clean it out and refill it though.

All critters, great and small, fed ... (y)

The Woman called and wanted to know if I was still fine with stuffed peppers again this evening (of course I am :)) ... then said they needed more "gravy" ...

That's funny for two reasons:

1. She's always teasing me about being the one that needs plenty of sauce with whatever dish we are having (it's true)

2. She called it gravy ...

So I took a can of Campbell's tomato soup, put it in a large plastic glass and mixed it up with about half the water it called for and poured it on and stuck them in the oven.

Got one of the 10K lumen LED's installed in the garage ... ain't gonna be no shortage of light in there from the looks of it ...

The next one will be tougher to get to ... will have to move some stuff around to get the ladder over there.

Dinner bell has rung.

Thanks Bup - I did.

Same to ya ... (y)

Watched a doc on the Cassini-Huygens Mission during dinner - a lot of the interviewees were speaking French (European Space Agency probably) ... so a good bit of the replies were dubbed to English. Was interesting.

After that I brought The Woman's Angelfish back up to the upstairs tank - she was worried about it getting beat up and she's probably right.

Now need to complete next Menards order, along with the Amazon one.

And of course have a piece of that sheetcake ... ;)

Hope you feel much better soon.

52 and some clouds going to 61.

Buppies, hope you're not hurting too much today.

Toppop, congrats on getting fully baked with the vaccine. Glad it went pretty easy. It's been helpful to read about others going through the process as we waited to get our shots. Neither of us have had a problem with the first shot, and my mom and sister finished their second shots last week with no probs.

Bird, it certainly was hot enough the other day for A/C...we didn't cut the house on, but I used it in my truck on the way home from the mountains. Our electric bill for Feb was the smallest we've received...helps when an ice storm knocks your power out for a couple of days. :)

I did my dump run yesterday, and filled the truck (2.75) and the diesel jug (2.59) on the way. Then roasted a couple of batches.

My BIL got vaccine this week. It got him good, fever, chills aches, He had COVID this time last year. My sister got vaccine couple days later, she had some issues but not as bad.

Hazel Falls and Cave, MP33.

I hope you can get out there soon. Have you thought about some test hikes/conditioning hikes nearby, like at Cunningham Falls St Pk or Catoctin Mtn?

Yes I have, drive thru them this morning on way to OH. I almost stopped to take a hike.

Good evening all 65F for the start, overcast, breezy. Windy today, overcast most of day, and high temp was 73F. Yesterday had reaction to second shot, low grade fever symptoms did not do anything or eat. Today woke up feeling better, conserved energy in morning, and took short 10 mile bike ride in afternoon. would have ridden further but too much wind. Don't forget DST clock reset !

Bill, check out the “special” conditions, like if you have diabetes, a heart condition, etc., ... or if you are fat! LOL, a BMI of 40 gets you closer to the front of the line. (Had a REAL big meal tonight.)
