That puts Dr. Seuss in the same category as Albert Einstein. Einstein had his books banned in Germany about 1933. I thought censorship of any kind was not allowed? What ever happened to the freedom of speech amendment to the constitution? Doesn't it read something like:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I think that this whole thing is stupid, however it is important to note that this is NOT a first amendment issue as this is not a case of government restricting speech. This is the copyright holder choosing not to publish additional copies of their intellectual property.

For some accuracy, it was just a few, of the many books that Seuss published. This was done my the family/company who owns the copyrights today.

Let's try to keep politics out of this thread or else we'll have to close our remove it. If you would like to discuss your favorite books that's fine.

So, if you already have the books they are not going to publish anymore, does that make them valuable???

No more tractors either. Green, red, white, blue, yellow, orange. Guess what's missing. Plus they cause cancer if you own more than 1.

Yes, the run over on e-bay has already started.

Do you consider the reference to the constitution in post # 3 to be political?
Are the words America, United States, Texas, New York, California, etc. also to be avoided, because in context they also might be interpreted by some as being too political?
This absurdly woke culture language censorship apparently has no limits?

Fried1765,
The whole point is that the books ARE NOT GETTING BANNED, the first post got it wrong from the get-go, the fife and drum music starts playing and out come the pitchforks and torches.

The publisher has stopped printing of 6 books due to some racist undertones that could be considered offensive to some. That's it.

KNEWNRML? Too hip for me. Or maybe I'm too hip to understand. Yeah let's go with that. ;)

Don't be absurd. :geek:

I just call it complaint culture. Everybody is complaining about everybody and everything.

What happened to the good old days when people on TBN could just fight about their tractors and get banned for being jerks? :D

Past couple of days I'm letting you guys self correct course on these obviously political topics and for now, it appears there's enough maturity to let it rest and not argue about a children's book or maple syrup on a tractor website.

What happened? Well for one, the life we have all enjoyed is coming to an end, quickly. What say you? Oh the paint on your "Chinese" tractor is fading? Oh, I'm so terribly sorry to hear that.
