Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Oh, and I had bought this cargo carrier a couple of months ago and finally got my hitch installed and used it. I carry some items I make 450 miles back to MS to stock for a customer. My old pickup is getting ling in tooth and I wanted to use my SUV to travel instead.. this thing is light, and works well. I added plywood and a tarp to wrap and hold the stuff which I used bungees to hold together. No noise, no issue, just did its job. Roughly 200 pounds for the load.

Aluminum Hitch Cargo Carrier - 5 lb. Capacity

It would be better if they worded these as "10% off any one thing" rather than "everything" since it's only good for one item. It's nice to see a coupon with few limits, but 10% doesn't make it worth my drive. Maybe on a big ticket item, but those items seem to be over priced compared to competitors now.
Well, they might have set themselves up for litigation. It clearly says 10% OFF EVERYTHING.
It doesn't say one item except for in fine print...... Treading thin ice.

The fine print is another reason I can live without coupons.

I just put a trencher in the cart.
I used the 10% code and it worked.
I guess it is for everything.

For an expensive item it would make sense to join the Inside Track Club and get 20% off vs 10%. It even looks like you could sign up for their goofy credit card and get an additional 10% off. It's hard to say as usually you can't combine coupons but it clearly states "Get an extra 10% off" and it's not a coupon but it is a discount.

If you order online .. it applies the "10% off on everything" to one of the cheapest item in your cart only. I just saved .. a whole dollar.

My wife just gave me a page of coupons that expire 3/24/21, there's no 2O% off coupon. They came from Go magazine and she's not sure if it's the current issue.

I've had that happen at the cash register in the past. It seemed to be up to the cashier, which item would receive the discount. I've had to ask to re-run the transaction with the coupon applied to the most expensive item.

MY MISTAKE! She says those weren't coupons. Apparently, it was a sale ad that resembled the old coupons. Actually, I'm glad. Keeping up with coupons was a hassle.

Been an Inside Track member right along and it pays for itself every year with the unadvertised specials. Don't want or need a HF credit card in as much as it's Capital One administrated. I cannot deal with the offshore call centers. Cannot understand the agents.

For us, one credit card is more than enough. I get offers constantly and ignore them.

Need to swing by HF and grab one of the Chief 4.5 air angle grinders this week.. $80.00 versus 100 bucks regular price. Problem is, at least with the local store is, lots of items aren't in stock and there is no 'raincheck' on ITC sales.

When I was in the closest HF Store, to the ranch, last week .. I picked up a couple of their portable parts bins to see how well they're built. They seem pretty sturdy and the latches work ok.

I'm trying to decide if I should order more of them plus a few of the larger bins.

I've got the majority of my small bolts, nuts, washers going from 4-40 up to 1/4-20 in some older plastic bins that are becoming brittle with age.

Then I'd need to build something like this to hold them?

The present "plastic" bins are stacked on a self and normally .. the one I need .. is on the bottom of the pile.

Anyone else using these bins?

I'm using the bins and am pleased with them. But like you said the one I need is always at the bottom of the stack.
Your rolling bin holder looks great, nice.

"Your rolling bin holder looks great, nice."

Not mine Lou .. just an idea I saw on the internet.

Small parts are always an issue. I bought a couple Vidmar cabinets at a machinery auction some years back and use them for my 'stuff'.

I have more 'junk' than China has rice and when I need something, I still cannot find it. Must be age.

I find myself spending an extraordinary amount of time looking for parts that I know I have.

You know how it goes? Look and look, give up and go by the part, find the one you were looking for the next day.

Rick, If possible I'd try to have smaller parts up higher
this way you have to pull out the entire container to get
inside, though it sure concentrates a lot of parts in a small area, and it
rolls too...though I'm sure the worktop has something to do with that.

I think that has more to do with age than anything else...lol I know I can set something down, walk away, come back and forget where I put it. Very frustrating.
