You have to ask yourself .. where was Amazon and their great plan, two months ago? Seems suspect that .. the day after the inauguration .. they're ready to help? Hmmm?

Was Amazon concerned that, earlier involvement, might result in helping out .. "certain other people"??

Rick, Remember Jeff Bezos was in political trouble because of his newspaper. That may be why Amazon had to set up it's own delivery operation instead of using the post office.
I don't quite trust Amazon but they do have a lot of front line workers who ought to be vaccinated. They also have a lot of logistics capacity.

Don't go political on me.

Chris

We order a lot of stuff through Amazon. Where we live, ANYTHING is a 2 to 3 hour round trip. Now... find it, click it, and two days later it's here. I really like the Pellegrino waters and low sodium V8; try finding those in the stores in any quantity. Amazon rocks...

Amazon still uses USPS? Probably 90%+ of my Amazon orders show up in my mailbox and on time as well. Many recent orders have been delivered "next day" after ordering.

BYW .. I worded my prior comment .. to get a point across .. without getting political.

Amazon is great at merchandizing and delivering on time, they should use their skills to help in the pandemic. But they are the same skills they had in October. It’s also not their place to censor.

A new shirt I ordered a couple weeks ago from Wilderness Tactical also showed up yesterday, and I just love it! It's basically a Hawaiian shirt, made from soft cotton fabric, cut a bit more generously to break up the outline of anything you might be carrying under your arm or on your belt. It also has a couple of chest pockets both of which are large enough to accommodate the new portly iPhone
Just bookmarked that site...think I'm going to check it out.

Boy, a cold day today...never got above 25 (but felt colder) and snow showers on and off...

Off tomorrow...well deserved vacation day!

Around here Amazon was using the USPS for packages for awhile. They had different trucks and vans and different drivers. I felt sorry for those folks. They were delivering after dark and on the weekends. Even on Sunday. I never had a package that couldn't have waited till Monday. Now they have a huge fleet of prime vans. Some times there are 2 or 3 running around the neighborhood at the same time.

Functioning under the (apparently incorrect) assumption that the great Gus Perna had things totally under control ... and things were moving ahead at "warp speed" ?

Who's to say that they didn't offer earlier ... but were rebuffed or ignored ... and so chose not to make a public statement at that time ?

I think getting a vaccine to the public in 10 months is remarkable speed.
I hope our new President gets the 100 million doses in arms in 100 days, as promised, the country needs it.

I know there are politics here, but the truth is we all just want our vaccines and it doesn’t matter who gets credit for what.

House shook a bit earlier today. Went to investigate and a large branch fell off my neighbors tree. Luckily his dogs were not under it.
We have so many big Ash falling here, we have been woken up by the crashes.

Tried to get a vaccine , went on line and signed up. Then looked at PA page and told me to contact local places.
All of them still say they are trying to get health (1a) completed and don't have enough. Hope that clears up soon.

I'm not worried about getting a vaccine anytime soon. Let those that need it most go first.

It would be ... if it happened.

Nonetheless I take your point: 10 months to develop, test, and to start to deploy a vaccine is very quick from a historical perspective.

I certainly hope he does as well.

But I suspect/assume that goal is largely aspirational.

I know there are politics here, but the truth is we all just want our vaccines and it doesn稚 matter who gets credit for what.

Yes, the truth is we pretty much all just want the vaccine for the most part.

When that happens, it will be a good day for the nation.

Operation Warp speed hit tonight when I got the call at 6:20PM. At 7:20PM I was back at home vaccinated.

Good to hear, I’ve got 9 days before I get the first one. I think I’m getting Moderna which is 28 days between doses, vs 21 for Pfizer, but I’m not complaining.
