Andrew Camarata on Youtube

I like Andrew's channel. He just DOES stuff. Sometimes maybe a little off kilter but I can appreciate his ambition and such. My personal favorite is the Caterpillar track loader.

Maybe you should watch the first videos of him working on that castle. That thing is built like a bunker, with huge thick wall square tubing from the ground up to the top.

The containers actually don't see much load at all.

Came to post this. Usually the stuff I see him built puts the "over" in overbuilt.

Unfortunately, he's the exact opposite like when working on a backhoe up in the air with only the BH hydraulics holding everything up.

I enjoy Andrew Camarata’s channel. Just watched his video of the crane rolling down the hill.

TV is a dying form of media and is being taken over by normal people producing their own content. It’s far more interesting.

I’ve stopped consuming the so-called “news”. I can’t remember the last time I watched TV. Never been on social media. I only watch YouTube videos and the occasional movie or documentary of my choosing. And I’m happier for it.

Since I've been home all week with Covid, I've been able to watch quite a few of his videos, including most of the castle build. I looked him up from comments on here about him and I liked seeing the variety of different projects that he does. What I think makes his videos better then most of the others out there is the amount of time actually working, and not just talking about it. For me, I really hate the endless talking in Youtube videos.

Andrew is one of a kind no matter which way you feel about him. I don't think he's that hard on his equipment when working WITH them. These machines are built to work, and he does plenty of work using them, can't ever say the man is lazy or unmotivated. Yes when it comes to certain repairs on his trucks, maybe his method is not your idea of the way it should be done, but you are also missing the point, if it's his work truck, he needs it to just plain work, he doesn't need to ever fix it again, his repairs are pretty much permanent. Also the chainsaw used to install the radio in his old truck was for humor purposes as much as just getting it done. You don't ever see him hacking at his daily driver SUV. Sometimes you need to get your equipment running so you can go work and get paid, Youtube aside. If the man makes money from You tube, he deserves it, you won't find a channel with as much effort and accomplishment as his, he never just runs his mouth to add time, if he's talking it's because he's got something to say, not for filler. He'd rather do a 10 minute video cut down from a years worth of work, than put out a 20 minute video of blabbing just so he has a new video every other day. If I needed to have something done at my house, I know I'd think about calling him, because for his customers he is professional, and leaves the jobsite clean and exactly what was asked for, plus he works fast, not wasting time to rack up the bill. I may disagree with some of his gravel choices or the way he works with concrete, but he stands behind his work and if you notice he has a lot of repeat clients and shows how his previous work is still there and looks just as good as when he left it.

I am willing to bet that Andrew has NEVER had a dissatisfied customer.
He is obviously an absolutely great guy!
I wish I were his neighbor!
I am an old guy, but if I lived close, I would volunteer my part time labor, just to have the fun of working with him.

I love how he bashes the auto companies although some of the comments aren't well thought through.

Interesting and well done videos but in the grand scheme, his aquisitions and some projects (CASTLE for instance, weird (expensive) building and he still doesn't have a heated shop living in NY state) seem to make little sense. An awful lot of equipment for a quy that doesn't have one employee from what I can tell.

I suspect that he buys, and resells some of that equipment, using it himself for only relatively short periods.

He seems quite tight lipped on matters of money. Kind of takes much of the value out of the videos if you ask me. I did kind of notice it went from "buying the cheapest whatever on marketplace" to having brand new stuff show up. Never a mention of cost either.

Funny though. You never do see a place where a good amount of that equipment is parked.

If you watch the videos, occasionally you will see the equipment together as he talks about something in common. There is a video where he talks about excavator thumbs and lines up "all" his excavators to show the differences/similarities. I am assuming that some of the equipment remains on jobsites as obviously not all of these jobs are done in one day. His videos tend to span a project, not a day, so 1 video will cover a job, which is infinitely more work than just posting work from "Thursday". So if this stuff is spread around at jobs, you won't see it together. I tend to look at the date the work is posted, and equipment will make repeat appearances. It looks like he tends to buy older machinery, but newer attachments, so either work is busy, or YouTube money is kicking in to allow this. He doesn't talk money which is fairly smart on his part. If he states that one job cost "$ x" than the next client will expect theirs to cost no more than "$x" even though their job could be a ton more work, yet a similar type of job. In this day of YouTube, and all the followers he has, who knows who is watching. And I have seen in comments under the videos where people say a cost for an attachment, and he would reply that he didn't pay that much, but who knows.
