You'd be guessing wrong. While WaPo definitely has a left bias in their opinion pieces, and they definitely hate Trump, they actually rate very highly for factual reporting in their news articles.

Why no mask wearing in the past during flu seasons? The flu is obviously deadly, spread in same way, and has no real cure. The flu vaccine will be less effective than the corona vaccine. I hear flu vaccine ~70% effective and Corona vaccine ~95% effective.
If Corona necessitated mask wearing (and it should), one would think we will be in masks for flu seasons from here on out, too.

We are already planning on masking up all 2021 as the vaccine won't get to most of the people until summer, then, we will wait a few months to see what happens. Corona virus may be with us for a long time or it may reappear every year. We just don't know much yet. I don't like how some people continue to suffer with Long Haulers disease. I sure don't like how Covid causes blood clots in the body.

I re traced the places I had been after I got it and I wasn't around anyone (except my GF) She didn't have it or was a carrier and it never affected her which I don't believe.

Its out there in the air. Just like the flu, some will get it and some won't. Just the luck of the draw.
Even the CDC has changed their views on the virus several times.. They are just scared to come out and say ''we don't know'' so they come up with something to sell the public.

If I did happen to have caught it from someone that wasn't wearing a mask. I don't blame them, any more than I would blame them from catching a cold !

You want to wear a mask the rest of your lives like they do in china, go ahead . you're free to do so. I won't be a part of that group though.

All these places claiming covid is the cause of all these deaths, It you want to believe what you're told, that's ok. Some has to put those numbers out there and I don't trust the people spreading this information.

Government has proven time and time again it has no problem lying to the peasants. Why do they do this / cause the peasants have proven they will fall for anything

Sheriffs, and police here are refusing to fill their jails with people that don't wear a mask

I'm more afraid of being killed by someone texting and driving /drinking and driving than I was of dying from covid.. And I survived covid !

That right there is the problem. You don't believe things. Symptoms can show up anywhere from 2 to 14 days after exposure.

People that have COVID can be contagious 2-4 days before any symptoms occur.

Asymptomatic people (those that have COVID but don't show any signs) can spread it and not even know they have it.

Did you go back 14 days before your first symptoms showed up and find everyone you were near?
Did you go back 4 days before that on your girlfriend's timeline?
That's 18 days of you and your girlfriend's life.

I can't remember where I was 2 days ago. Unless you and your girlfriend went nowhere and saw no one in an 18 day period before your first symptoms occurred, you have no idea where it was contracted.

I just learned that our 31 year old grandson was diagnosed with covid yesterday. I knew that some of his coworkers had it, and he, his wife, and 2 little ones were here for an early Christmas a week ago.

I sure don't like how Covid causes blood clots in the body.

During the 3 weeks I spent in the hospital for Covid, I was on steroids and blood thinners to reduce the chance of clots. It was something the medical people were very concerned with and monitored. Seems it is a very serious side effect.

Unlike MossRoad, I've NEVER known anyone who died of the flu; been pretty sick, but never died. And of course I've known many who had the flu or THOUGHT they had the flu when it was actually just a bad cold.

Yesterday I posted the fact that our grandson has been diagnosed with the Covid. Then later yesterday, my wife's sister called and said their brother, in West Virginia (75 years old) now has the Covid. And while I consider the current Covid situation to be about as serious as it can get, I also have to agree with those who believe the numbers are not really accurate.

I had posted elsewhere on TBN that my former next door neighbor, who would have been 91 in less than a month, and has been in and out of the hospital, and has been in a nursing home for more than a year and a half, died Christmas day. Yesterday evening, I learned from his daughter-in-law (retired RN) that it was recorded as a Covid death.:confused3:

So who is really convinced that they know the numbers are either right or wrong?

Im convinced the numbers are enhanced. I have reliable sources (nurses working in hospitals treating Covid) of deaths caused by accidents that have little or even nothing to do with Covid. Also seniors being sent to elderly homes where they knew they would get Covid and probably die.

I also take the illness seriously and dont want to see anyone die or suffer needlessly.

A person can believe the virus is deadly but at the same time realize the numbers are inflated so hospitals can make more money.

Greed is a powerful motivator for hospitals tempted to take the money. And there are famous, influential people who believe the elderly are a burden on society, so sending them to a home where they KNOW they will be infected and probably die is just culling the herd to them.
Its SICK, but theres a lot of sick people in state governments as we know. We had a home for mentally ill a few towns over from me where patients were abused. It was closed, thank the Lord. But the people running those kinds of abusive facilities are still out there.

Few ever doubted him personally nor his integrity.

Which I believe highlights a root issue contributing to much of the debate in society today.

Many grew up not trusting in the government as a direct result of Vietnam era events.

Over time, many have grown to also no longer trust the historic sources of news and information.

And even more recent, many no longer trust even the scientific community, such as Mr. Fauci, for being unbiased and without motive.

Before anyone dog piles on me, these are observations only. I've no dog in this fight.

So it seems mistrust of the source of data leads to mistrust of the data itself.

The underlying broad-spread mistrust is now a systemic issue, which I believe to be more dangerous than the Covid virus itself.

One kills people, the other kills whole societies.

That is a very sad thought. I’m not anti mask during this serious situation but the thought of wearing these awful masks after COVID is under control is just depressing.

Up to 80 percent of communication is nonverbal which is greatly reduced when ones face is covered.

A good example of the consumer news media is when Diane Sawyer did her level best to destroy the GM trucks by feigning a collision with the trucks fuel tank using fireworks as a catalyst.
More recently, A good example with government is we have seen government investigations that are purely political in nature to destroy opponents reputations.

We could all do so much better with trustworthy news sources that help us save and spend better, take better care of our health, etc instead of the latest celebrity gossip or political mud slinging. Its really shameful how these critters peddle wasteful garbage on TV all day. We could be so much better.

I lost faith in what the news stations were reporting after a story ran, where my wife knew the first hand facts, and was the person who reviewed all the camera footage with the police.

The news station doing the reporting didn't have a bloody clue what they were talking about and every fact on the story was complete and utter nonsense.
