How to Fix a Slow Tire Leak

It took me several weeks to get to town and buy a plug kit - with covid I leave the place as little as possible. Then it took a while for warm enough weather to get to the barn and tackle the job. It went smooth enough. I pressure was down to maybe 10 psi, so I took the weight off with the FEL and followed directions to insert the plug. It's been some weeks now and it seems to be holding fine, as many of you said it would. Thanks for the advice.

years ago i bought a 1998 truck from mechanic friend that had an original goodyear tire on that truck with 2 plugs in same hole in middle of sidewall. never leaked next 40,000 miles with about 80,000 miles on tire. i rotated tires regularly and never leaked. amazed me!! he always run that knurled plugger wrench till it got hot almost smoking' and then put plugs in really quick, almost like vulcanizing the cords. his plugs always worked great!

I just paint some of this on the plug to make it slide in easy......Amazon.com: Western Weld Clear All Purpose Tire Repair Vulcanizing Cement Brush Top Can 8 oz: Automotive

Instead of using that, I've done several tire plugs and coated each with flex seal..then inserted the plug.
Let it cure properly before use..
No leaks on any..

I have posted elsewhere but---
Had a flat, no plugs, shredded an extension cord to get the filler plastic, flattened a nail and bored a hole.
Threaded the plastic, inserted and set afire.
That DIY 'PLUG' never budged for the next 2-3000 miles when I sold the vehicle.
