Hi All.

I have a Kubota Front mount Snowblower model B2782B which has an Electric Chute Actuator on it.

It is a LINAK Actuator Type 123000-1130122X, Item 120210-01 I think it is a Model LA12, but not sure. ( I have attached a pic of the sticker on the actuator).

It's getting power, and I can hear it "trying", but it doesn't move at all.

I also thought I saw water coming out of it.

Is there any possibility of troubleshooting and repair?

Or should I just replace it? Any idea where I can purchase a replacement?

Thanks for the help.

Since it's broke, why not just take it apart and see what's inside? Maybe it just needs to be cleaned out.

I would love to have something like that come across my bench...

I may just try to open it up. I am curious as to what's inside anyway.

I have sent off an email to LINAK to see if they can offer any trouble shooting tips.

I forget where I bought mine. Probably Amazon or Ebay. Very common and fairly cheap IIRC.

chim - I can see that you can angle the tip. Can you also rotate the entire chute? What is all that lower black bar & stuff???

Yes it rotates from the cab. I made a pendant with two small rocker switches in it (UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT). There's a relay box on the back of the cab, so the switches are pilot duty. That lower black bar is a pipe and the end towards the tractor has a small 12V geared motor adapted to it. A cable wraps around the chute and the ends of the cable are wound onto the pipe in opposite directions. A clip hold the cable on the chute so it doesn't slip. When the motor turns the pipe it winds / unwinds the cable and rotates the chute.

Everything worked pretty well, but the blower was sold along with the L3200 about a year ago. The blower was fun for a while. The power-angle 8' plow on the L4240 is far more useful for me. At our place we have plenty of area to push snow away. I plow parking lots at our church and the blower didn't work well there. Too far to blow the snow in one shot, and every time it gets re-blown it's much harder to throw.

Chim - spot on!!! I have a mile long gravel driveway, mailbox area and large yard. Three and a half to four hours using the 3-point blower was never my idea of fun. Now it's my big Rhino rear blade on the M6040 that clears snow. Going in a forward direction is so much easier on the neck/shoulders.

I'll 2nd that. Very cheap & very common. Just measure the closed length & how far it needs to extend along with the bolt hole sizes at the ends.

There are 100-200lbs ones that are relatively slow under $50. The next step up is around $100 for more power & speed. They make identical looking ones that trade speed for power by just using shorter or taller gearing internally.

Generally plastic gears on the inside on the cheap ones & even not so cheap ones. Probably what broke.

Thanks to everyone for their insights.

I am in search of a place to grt the actuator repaired.

A brand new matching replacement actuator is close to $700. I can buy a complete Actuator "Kit" (B2516A) fro $627 plus tax from my local dealer.

I think if I can fins a place to repair it, that would be a much cheaper option.

But I can't locate a repair center for LINAK yet.

I could open it up myslef and take a look, but I don't have access to parts anyway, so no sense for me to try to repair it myself.
