Walked into an old customers lobby, Italian Marble and brown brick, now owned by another company. Handyman was painting the bricks, yup, that God awfull white that everything has to be now. Can't have anything "outdated". There is like no coming back from that stupidity! UFB!

I’ll agree with you on not liking the new vehicles and the udder stupidity of painting brick but hardwood is far superior to carpet IMO. Yea it’s louder but carpet is nasty. I think the fairly new vinyl hardwood is the best option. It looks good and the durability and water resistance is better than real wood. I like white trim better than wood trim but I prefer wood cabinets and furniture. Real wood that is.

We had carpet in our previous house. Everything except the bathrooms and kitchen/dining room. After 18 months in a non carpet house, we'll never go back. Carpet is disgusting. As I mentioned earlier, new life forms are emerging as we speak.....

So why is carpet nasty now and it wasn't then? Or brown cupboards or my brown stove?

I owned a UTV back in 1999, when everyone else was riding around on those four wheel things with handlebars and a bicycle seat. I didn't want one then and I wouldn't want one now, but back then everyone HAD to have one! It's all just monkey see, monkey do if you ask me.

Who said carpet was ever clean? Because it wasn’t. And hardwood is probably the oldest floor beside concrete and dirt so it’s certainly not a new fad.

It's always been nasty. You peed on your bathroom carpet today. And yesterday. And the day before that. And last year.

NO! I pee sitting down when inside. Given the choice, I prefer to do almost anything sitting down as apposed to standing up.

Nothing like seeing pubes on a tile floor, especially when wet!

Carpet is nasty everywhere but carpet in a bathroom is an exceptionally horrible idea. I don’t like vehicle carpet either but the vinyl liner seems to get water under it and rot the body so maybe that’s not great either.

Yep. I'm a Jeep guy. Best way to keep the Jeep intact is pull out all the carpet and run it bare metal.

Everyone expressed their distain about my carpet in the bathroom/shower room. I don't care! That's what I want and that's what I get! Mind you, solution dyed nylon commercial carpet. Not exactly your parents shag! lol

Hey, I'm happy for you. Just understand it's nasty down in there.

Carlan said, your system needs germs to practice on. Farm kids never got sick!

I want a comfortable home, not an operating theatre.

I totally understand. Everyone's tolerances are different. None are wrong.

We used to have some of the first Malls in Canada that had carpeting. They were wonderfull to stroll around in and little kids didn't bust out their front teeth when they fell on their faces.

And a big modern hospital here had it as well. That mind you , did turn into a bit of a problem!

Our new house has zero wall to wall carpet.

Much easier to clean.

Much cleaner to live in.
We did the same. Our house is on a slab, and we have a German Shedder. Laminate flooring and a roomba are our best friends. Takes me two minutes to empty the roomba and clean the dog hair out of the rollers. The roomba runs through the house daily.

The type of underlayment for the floor makes a huge difference with the amount of echo you get.

We sprung for the higher end underlayment when we replaced the flooring in our house. It cut echo down almost 90 percent.

I've never understood carpeting in a vehicle. Especially a truck or SUV.

Don't get me wrong. I love my bells and whistles. But I would love to smack the idiot who thought it was a great idea to put carpeting standard in a truck.

I want the power windows, door locks, heated seats and all the other goodies with vinyl floor boards. It's so much easier to vacuum out a vehicle and then wipe the floorboards down with some 409 to clean them. Versus a steam cleaner and letting the carpet dry for 2 or 3 days afterwards.

Now vinyl isn't even an option on most vehicles!
