It’s being pulled by a 5th wheel semi but it’s definitely a pintle hitch trailer. It looks like the truck and trailer was fine for the load so I’m guessing this was caused by bad driving.

Just got back from town. On the way out, I saw a UPS truck suddenly pull off at an unusual spot, the shoulder of the down bond side of a bridge, no driveways nearby. Figured mechanical issue maybe. Wasn't sure in my mirror, but oit looked like the rear door was rolled partially up. A quarter mile further on, the other side of the bridge hump, I see a guy scrambling to push a bunch of boxes out of the roadway. Two and two says the UPS guy will be looking for work.

They are union, he has to screw up a lot bigger than that to get canned

If it is a pintle trailer, the downforce on the rear axle(s) of the prime mover would be a fraction of the downforce through a fifth wheel; handling of the tractor would be affected. When in the service we had to tow a 5T wrecker (approx. 37,000 lbs.) with the pintle of a fifth-wheel 5T tractor (approx. 20,000 lbs). Tongue weight was about half that of a 100 lb? towbar. Driver said it was the worst "tail wags dog" load he had ever towed.

Is this diesel a bumper mount, or 5th wheel mount for the trailer,,?
(would it be called a third wheel ? )

I think the turbo still needs some work,,,

On another note,, I saw a 40 foot aluminum box trailer (like an 18 wheeler, type trailer ) today,
It had 6 of the 8 tires removed, only one tire was left on each side of the forward axle.
The rear axle was just hanging, no tires.

The trailer was attached to a flatbed, dually F350 Ford pickup,, I have no idea how it was connected,
probably the trailer was just chained to the truck, the trailer was sitting flat down on the flatbed, no gap.

Well, for some reason, the local police had pulled the guy over,,, maybe one of the turn signal bulbs was burned out ??

I said to my wife,, "Look, the police pulled that guy with the trailer over!"

She said, "I know why he was pulled over, The trailer has the little one square foot vent door on the back open, the guy driving that truck is probably a coyote!"

A "coyote" is a guy that transports illegals, she thought the vent door being open was to supply breathing air for the illegals,,,

So, if you do not want to be pulled over, keep the vent doors on your box trailer closed!!

Vent doors are intended to be used when driving if needed. But you described many other reasons for the stop.

Driving along on a county highway yesterday I came upon a truck pulling a deckover trailer with a T650 sized skidsteer on it and not a strap in sight. Fortunately for me I was just approaching a big curve that he had made it through. Glad we didn't meet on the curve.

If he entered a steep driveway the front tractor would hit the top of the cab.

It must be a flat land state. It wouldn’t take much for the mower to hit the cab.

Why?

He had it loaded safe enough to make it through the curve.

Safe transport of a load also has a LOT to do with knowing how to DRIVE.

I do not care how good of a driver a person is, a incorrectly secured load is a hazard. Seems to me the whole purpose of securing a load is to handle the unexpected. There’s lots and lots of unexpected circumstances out there

There are circumstances that don't require a load to be "secured" to the point that it can shaken upside down without coming loose.

How do you protect from an airplane falling out of the sky on the tow vehicle?

A good driver takes speed, weather, road conditions, traffic, & MANY other things into consideration when transporting anything.

Uh, . . NO! I don't care if you are the goodest, safest, smartest, biggest, baddest, or slowest driver in the world, if you drive with a completely unsecured load, you deserve to be fined and not AFTER the accident.
Pithes me off seeing "contractors" running around with skidders on the snow covered trailer and not a chain in site. Last year one of these "professionals" had 2 of them slide off.

I've got a buddy who hauls his 10K lb New Holland C232 on a dump trailer, he had never even considered chaining it.
