Well, I got the front cut on Saturday and promptly bent a blade....Replaced both blades ($65.oo + Gouge and Screw Tax) this morning and cut all of the side field and the back. That is enough for today.
The original battery on the Kioti finally gave up the fight, had to boost it to get the tractor running so I could lift up the mower and change the blades. New battery will be in tomorrow.

You can't really complain about getting 8 years out of a battery, L4N.

Great family pics BEF ! Who stole the rails ?

.

That was pretty much what he was saying.
They talked about that RR spot for several years. We went back in 2010 and they had forgotten by then. Can’t believe it’s been 10 yrs.

Neat rock picture.

I need to go take a closer look at that dune buggy tomorrow on my walk. Looks like a front engine conversion on a Bug, never saw one of those before, and where the engine was
a racing style fuel tank is installed. Someone surely wanted something different.

We use to have a guy at the Endless Summer Cruise, in Ocean City every year that had a Beetle with a 454 and five speed, front mount with a narrowed. Ford 9” rear. Custom frame of course.

Well I got some real bad news this am, my favorite nephew died yesterday from what they think was a heart attack. He was only 61 and a cattle rancher all his life as well as a very accomplished artist. My sister said that he, his son, grand daughter and a hired hand were working the last of the fall heifers when he said he needed to sit a moment because of chest pains. All the young people working with him are EMTs in their small communitie so his son took his blood pressure and it was very high so they took off to the closest hospital. They had to use defibrillator to get him going and called Flight for Life to get him to Colo. Springs but he was D.O.A..

He was my sister and bro. in laws second son, their older son has M.S. and is in a care facility. I really feel terrible for them.
Would appreciate it if those of you inclined would say a prayer for Wade,I'm sure he is in a better place but sure will be missed.

Thanks

Jim

Jim, I've been gone for a few days. So sorry for the family. Prayers.

Got the new equipment from HughesNet installed today. Not too troublesome, but I honestly don't see any improvement in the service speed. It has a built in wifi router with both 2.4g and 5g channels, just like our old router. I originally set it up to just use the 5g channel as the main channel, and the 2.4g as the "guest" channel ... not that we have a lot of guests here. The thinking was that it was probably always defaulting to the 2.4g, so I'd just eliminate that possibility and go straight to 5g. Wrong. The 5g worked off and on, but seemed to drop connection more than it was on. So, this told me that we're not really getting enough signal here to utilize the 5g connection. Once I included the 2.4g (dual channels), it worked just like the old setup. Slow. This "upgrade" did nothing for us, beyond combining two pieces of gear into one. I guess when The Wife gets back from Texas, we'll have to sit down and give some consideration to trying Viasat.

Those are freq bands, 5 Ghz vs 2.4 GHz. Sometimes it depends on the channel you are using. However, 802.11ac is the current fastest of the 802.11 variations and can only work on 5 GHz band. However, 5 GHz doesn’t pass thru walls as well as 2.4 GHz, and doesn’t travel as far. I currently only use 2.4 GHz.

Good morning to all! Low of 50, going for 82, no rain.

Yesterday I was able to get the deck all cut off of the trailer, my sons loaded it all with some other stuff and took it to the dump. Perfect timing.

Broke out the grinder yesterday and cut some angle iron reinforcements to fit on the trailer. Definitely could feel the frame stiffen with them just clamped in place. Need a few final adjustments, then I'll weld them on. I'm going to check prices today to see if diamond plate is in the spectrum of affordable. Pressure treated lumber has over doubled in price. If the steel is even another 50% higher, it would surely be worth it.

As usual, too many things going on with you guys! Thank goodness for Mostly's recap of events!

I hope everyone has a great start to the week!

"Pressure treated lumber has over doubled in price."

Yep. What's the cause of that??

I priced 2x8 x12' #1 PT ground contact .. about 6 weeks ago and they were about $12 each. This is for a 6'x12' utility trailer and I need 11 of them.

Now they're $26 each? Whuuu?

for those of you, like me, who hate to hook up pto's, Kubota is now coming out with a quick hitch pto for select models and of course
matching Land Pride equipment. Sounds like a winner to me.
just a small part of the following, their annual meeting had to go virtual due to CV
Kubota 22 New Products | Zoom Dealer Meeting - YouTube

That's a long commercial. Skip to about the 3:25 mark. Watch closely. It only lasts for about 25 seconds.

I like the idea but sure looks like a lot of hardware involved.
