Best guess is that it would work 6 hours a week on average. Pick best weed wacker for a woman or short person is complicated.

I love my Oregon battery operated. It's my goto trimmer but is great for women.

I second the Oregon. My wife loves it, light and easy to use. She can never get the gas one started. We also have the chain saw and 2 blowers.

Definitely go battery. Do you already have any battery op tools? If so, you might be able to stick to a brand you have so you get dual/multiple tool use from same battery(s).

Gave a Dewalt 20V to both my wife and daughter. both are very happy with them.
Probably ANY battery one would be better than a gas one for them.
Who wants a unhappy wife...

My wife has a lot of trouble starting the gas weed eaters, the above is what I got for her. It has just as much power as the gas jobs.

We have a Husqvarna 129L gas trimmer. My wife is 4'11" and she uses it without issue. She can start it, run it for an hour or two. Sure, she complains about it, but she complains about everything and I don't know which complaints to take seriously. Maybe I should look into one of these battery powered trimmers.

My wife wouldn't use our Stihl gas trimmer because I had to start it for her. I bought a Stihl trimmer with battery and belt. The battery rides on your hip and there is a cord from the belt to the trimmer making for a light weight hand held with as much power as the gasser. Quickly realized I didn't need the gasser any more and sold it.

The other big benefit besides weight and quick on/off is the noise is so much less. I don't ever think twice about running my electric trimmer, hedger or even the chainsaw and worry about disturbing neighbors. Even the deer don't seem to mind as much!

The best one is the one she will use

I like the Makita battery version...

I've had a variety of weed eaters and electric is by far the easiest and quietest to operate. If you want to save money and don't mind a cord, that would be the lightest. I had a Ryobi that lasted 20 years. I still might have it, I don't remember throwing it away, but haven't seen it in quite awhile. All the gas models are a pain in the butt, especially after sitting all winter!!! I'm now using a Makita cordless and I really like it a lot. It takes two batteries, so there is some weight to it. I can do my entire yard on just those two batteries. So far, I have never ran out of power or needed to change batteries while using it.

The best weed eater for a woman is a man with any brand.

After going through treatment for cancer the Stihl was too heavy and too much vibration. Bought a DR TRIMMER and both of us use it. String lasts a long time on grass. Little vibration on handle. Brigs engine starts first or second pull. No gas oil mixing. Has a belt clutch and engine stays running.

Don't think many women can start a motor driven weed eater. Definitely go battery. Our Porter Cable 20v one is lighter weight than the 40v Kobalt one.

Mine is 5'10" and uses a Weedeater gas, but she can bench press a Buick. As my 5'8" brother said "I bet she could whip my axx in every room of my house".

I think most women could start a gas trimmer, if they wanted to. My wife is a tiny creature, and not abnormally strong (I don't think?) And starts all the stuff; pole chainsaw (she can't get much else done with it though), leaf blower, weed eater, and pressure washer. The only thing she can't start is the generator. The pressure washer is over 200cc and if she cant get it started in the first two or three pulls she calls me.
