Guy next door comes to feed his cattle. Pulls a little trailer five miles or so with an old SUV. No lights, no safety chain. Put a round bale too far back on the trailer and hitch simply lifted off ball. Moved bale ahead and simply put hitch back on ball. He says the weight will keep it there.

Scary that there are people out there like that.
That's a lawsuit looking for a place to happen.

And they vote, . . . and reproduce!!

And that's why you never piss off the gantry operator!
Or remember to unlock the dogs. I wouldn't want to be in that goat and count on the fithwheel to hold. But they have a release inside. I would have hit that right away before it got off the ground. Never mind it's a normal tractor. He should have unlocked the dogs.

I got this one last Saturday. I kept my old Duramax 2500HD for the heavy stuff. But its getting a little old for a daily and vacations. This one should handle my travel trailer. I will find out next month. Due to the smoke and predicted rain that will make a acidic mess it will sit in my garage for a while. I am going to get a clear bra and the ceramic coat it before I start using it. But it's a lot nicer with a lot more goodies on it. The good thing is they just got it and put it on the lot that morning. So it only had 4 miles on it when I test drove it. It hasn't been test driven or had a bunch of lookers climbing in and out of it. View attachment 669587

Congrats

Yeah, but the operator should have seen the truck was still attached, thats awfully high to have been an accident!

Reminds me of how the loaders at the quarry would change their drop height on large rock depending on the drivers attitudes. Heard of some dropping so high the boulders went through the bottom of the bed.

The video I saw showed the driver on the ground frantically trying to get the attention of the crane operator. It wouldn't surprise me, that the operator couldn't see from that vantage point, plus the number of containers moved in an hour is insane. SLOW and SAFE, doesn't work there!

Dad is borrowing the Ford, Kubota and Iron Bull for a couple days to do a French drain at his buddies daughters house. It must be nice to be retired and have all the time in the world to play tractor.... I have to go to work to pay for the toys View attachment 669762View attachment 66976320200915_190056.jpg20200915_190108.jpg20200915_190124.jpg

Rock crawler that setup is all wrong, it is chained down way to good. Next thing your going to say is the trailer brakes work and it has lights.

It's a 2019 Iron Bull 22' 14K gross, 2 x 7k axles, all LED lighting, optional upgraded larger and heavier load tires... But I didn't do disk brakes... Just the standard lame 4 electric drums.

The rear has 2 x 3,300 work load / 10K break load straps, the front is grade 70 3/8" chain (6,600 work load, 26K break). The tractor is around 4,600 lbs as it sits with loaded tires, hoe and loader.

I’d reverse your tie down equipment. You’ll never accelerate hard enough to break a strap. It could happen with braking or actually hitting something.

I was just about to say that... if possible I chain down the back and pull it tight then use binders or straps on the front. Not that there's likely to be a problem anyway

I saw this on FB. That little 3500 pound trailer ( if it’s even that much) definitely isn’t overloaded. IMG_9085.JPG

It’s probably a yard tractor and not an over the road model. If they didn’t have very much travel in the hitch it’s possible and I wouldn’t be surprised if the crane was automated.
