I was mowing with my Bush Hog brand mower with my Mahindra 4510 and then all of a sudden I was not. The red dash light that is on when the PTO is engaged was off and the PTO shaft was not turning. That tractor has a series of 3 lever/switches/knobs to fully engage the PTO. They were all in their correct positions but I checked/moved them etc. to be sure. No luck.

I loaded it up and brought it to the tractor shop. Hopefully just a switch or electrical connection and not the PTO shaft itself. I had a mouse get in the dash but this happened some weeks after that and 20 hours of mowing. We shall see. Always something. Thoughts?

Hopefully, Mickey Mouse just ate thru part of the push button PTO wire and it finally failed, which would be an "easy" fix. (unless of course I was doing it, and then it would turn into a 4 day job to make one wire splice).

Good luck, and keep us posted.

You asked for a follow up. I brought the tractor into the tractor shop on Friday at 3PM. Busy time of the year with the farmers planting and needing equipment etc. At 9:17 AM today (Sat) I got an email. A blown fuse and the PTO is fixed. Also checked in the dash. A LOT of mice nest materials, had also chewed nearly through a timed delay box. New part on order and hope to have it done mid week. This tractor dealership does not carry Mahindra but has done some repair work for me. Can't beat that service.
I could have checked for the fuse but I suspected the mouse may have caused problems. Glad I brought it in.

You got the future problems fixed now too! Happy to hear such an easy and relatively cheap fix.

Last two (yes 2) times that happened to me, I snapped my 540 shaft. Long story short, I didn't realize that a stabilizer was applying sufficient pressure on the rear end and as my reward, I got a snapped shaft which was fun (not) to replace.

Once I figured out the issue, I simply disconnected the stabilizer.

Glad yours was easy and you negated a future issue.
