LS 4150H

I've got a 2018 XR 4150H. A great tractor, until now. In the short term, confusing at best, frustrating in the least.
Started brush hogging. After about 30 min. went into reduced power mode. Fault codes
29 31 P2138 Hand Pedal Correlation track 1 over track 2 fault
29 31 P060E Hand pedal signal fault
29 31 P2120 Hand pedal signal track 1 fault
29 31 P2125 Hand pedal signal track 2 fault

81 11 P242F DPF fault triggers reduced torque

Pulled over, initiated forced regen.
Regen was as normal.

Warranty date close, but not sure.
It took 2 phone calls, an email and FB message to get response from LS re: s/n and warranty date.
Murphy's law. B to B warranty expired one month ago today.

"Hand Pedal" fault seems to indicate "Hand Throttle Lever".
Was informed by LS that the "Hand Throttle Lever" would not be under the power train warranty (regrettably makes sense) and If I did buy the part and self install, it would still likely need to be calibrated by a dealer.

Cleaned grounds, known factory issue. Grounds were, as expected, painted. Sanded clean. No joy.

Compounding issue is that selling dealer is 800 miles away.

The one bright spot is that a local dealer 45 miles away did give me one other thing to try before loading it on the trailer and bring it to him.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Have you done a visual inspection under the tractor? Since that happened while you were brush hogging, I wouldn't be surprised if the brush or a stick pulled some wires or knocked something under the tractor.

Good suggestion. But, yes, everything is still connected.

NP .. I was going to refer you to a great LS dealer with shops in Austin (Spicewood) and Greenville. They won't screw you around.

Sorry your having issues. My XR4155HC is even better than my previous XR4046HC.

BTW .. welcome to TBN!

Thanks, Rick.
Actually, you affirmed my choice of selling dealer. The crew at RCO is the best.
Long story. Had an XJ2025H. Loved it. Harvey flood, lost house and submerged tractor. Tractor sat at RCO Bee Cave 6 months while arguing with insurance. In the interim, house was total loss (lost fight with FEMA and insurance). Moved to AR Dec 2017, settled with tractor insurance march 2018. Upgraded through RCO to XR4150H April 2018. It's been a great tractor. 1st trouble I've had. Looks like Bruno may be good. We shall see.

Thanks

Dee

John Ryan is a great Dealer and represents LS well. I now consider John and Alex friends.

I think I may have the same issue. It is an electronic throttle. Many report a similar issue. It works fine if you move the throttle about 3/8 to 1/2 inch up. My dealer told me the same thing, not covered under warranty. I think LS is screwing us, since it is a known fault. I have been using mine this way - never bottoming out the throttle - since last fall.

I'm taking it to Bruno's in Cabot tomorrow. Tried to go today, but work (thank God I have it) got in the way.

Something you may want to try.
The dealer suggested and it made sense, if you look at the pot (potentiometer) on the base of the throttle lever, you will see 2 screws in adjustable slots, similar to a set of points.
Mark the location, loosen the screws and try adjusting the position. The dealer said that these sometimes move and lose calibration. I tried and only succeeded in changing the idle and the rpm at which the failure occurred.
Make your own choice as to try it or not. Since mine will not pull a load at partial throttle (normally it would), I decided to try it before loading it on the trailer.

Thanks

Dee

Any updates, from the LS Dealer, on what's causing your problem?

I believe I am having a similar problem on mine. Was there any resolution to this?

/ XR4150 no throttle, failure codes, difficulty w / LS support #15
I found if you open the throttle about 1/2 inch you have no problems. On mine 1/2 inch is about 1000 rpm. I am sure other hve had this issue but LS seems to be clueless. All they want to do sell you a new part!

Thanks for the reply. The further I dig into it, it seems that the code I am getting is related to the DPF sensors communicating with the ECU. When this signal is faulty, it affects the hand throttle signal, as the engine speed is controlled by the ECU. I'm not saying that the hand throttle assembly couldn't be a secondary issue, but I believe they are connected. As I read on here, some others have had this issue, and a software patch corrected the problem in about a half hour at the dealer. Mine is headed there this week, and I will report back with my findings.

who buys a tractor from a dealership 800 miles away?

I bought my first one from a dealer 550 miles away... I bought my second One from a dealer 650 miles away... maybe my third will be from 800 miles away! :D

And I thought I was perhaps making a mistake buying from a dealer 90 miles away. I feel better now. I think.:)

Got mine back from the dealer. It was the hand throttle assembly. He explained that since it is electronic, the ECU uses it's position to determine how to run, so when it can't get that information, it doesn't know what to do. It cost $250 for him to change it, but it seems to have fixed the issue. I need to put more hours on it to make sure it is not something else, but it seems better for now. It started acting like the fuel system was having an issue (plugged line, dirty filter, etc.). In reality, it was a fuel issue, but caused by a lack of input from the hand throttle.
