45 right now...high in the upper 50's and rain...up to an inch or so.

Did get the gutters cleaned out yesterday...that's the good news.
Not so good news in a I took a dive on a rug covering a concrete floor. Apparently wrenched my back....I can barely walk...

Hope your back recovers soon!!!

RNG, sounds like that always get the adrenaline up!
About 4 years ago, we were sitting at the table eating dinner when there was a large BANG followed by the sound of tinkling / breaking glass. Grabbed my .380 and proceeded towards the front door (where we thought the sound came from). The front door, which is stained glass, was intact. So were the 3 big windows next to it.

Mmmm.... took us a while to find out what it was.... the inner glass of the oven door! Shattered into a thousand pieces! The oven was only about 4 days old! We found out it was an issue with the tempered glass due to a manufacturing problem. The appliance company was originally going to just replace the oven door, but they swapped out the whole unit about a week later.

Since I put all the plants in the garage where the tractor goes, Big Blue got covered.... maybe it will help clean off the dirt / dust...

I went and dug out my winter jacket, gloves, and hat..... I just finished shoveling snow off the front and rear decks / walkway. I seriously thought I was done doing this for the year! It is still snowing! I would not mind an inch or two, but 6-10? :banghead::pullinghair::censored::hissyfit:

Look on the bright side, Ted. NM issued stay-at-home orders, so at least you don't have to worry about having to drive in all that snow today.

And that snow looks fluffy enough that a leaf blower could get the seat on the LS cleaned off without too much fuss.

AND you'll get some seat time pushing snow off the driveway!

Things could be a lot worse: At least you don't have any trenches that need diggin'!

I feel your pain Roy. I've had a bad back (degenerative disc disease) for the past 50 years. I have learned over the years that IF you feel yourself falling to relax and roll with it. I know, it is easier said than done.

67°F and 5.51 inches rain last 24 hours, so that would mean only .01 since posting last night. Likely too soggy yet to resume mowing.

Anyone else curious how this covids may impact our food supply? I am. Put out a feeler to 5 closest neighbors to explore a joint community effort. My basic idea being instead of each doing a complete garden we combine efforts and each family be responsible for maybe 3 items. Encouraging feedback from 2 already but only set the email last night.

Flexible what I do the morning due to sogginess. Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon. Word is 2 more mainland couples want to join us. One was a neighbor several years, the other were frequent visitors. Both were active HH participants.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I remember the tears streaming down my mother's face, as they re-entered and got home safely. It was a big deal.

Just picked up the yard, and moved stuff around in the barn, to park the SUV in the barn too.

My daughter helped me mow today. I've been waiting almost 15 years for a helper. :) She ran the 4310 and I was on the 5420. We got maybe 1/2 of the 25 acres done. The ground is really soft in the bottom land. We mowed until it started raining pretty hard at which time, my son came out and told us lunch was ready. Roast beef, rice, gravy, green beans and oven roasted carrots.

South and Central Texas, has in the last few years, had some type of wild rye grass take over many fields and almost all of the ditches. It grows up and chokes out the wild flowers in many places. At least it doesn't have stickers or thorns and I believe the cows can eat it. It was about 2.5 feet deep and thick in places here. I just slash it down, so that the bermuda can get light.

Rick and Don, I have a bunch of Post oak trees that I need to clear the underbrush. It's amazing what all will grow under those things. Also have probably about 12 that are dead and need to be pushed over. I need the ground to be a bit drier to do it (for traction).

Don, I forgot to tell you last week's storm blew a pole barn into highway 21 in San Antonio Prairie/Deanville.

I'm praying that tonight's storm is calmed down.

Prayers for All! Happy Easter!

I hope it's not Japanese Stiltgrass- just started getting it here and it is overwhelming the edges of where I mow and along the roadsides.

When I first starting falling from my back issues, Dad told me to tuck and roll, it would hurt alot less... my last fall a few days ago, I was thinking that as I was going down.. no way to tuck and roll when your feet are tangled up like someone has tied them together and then pushed you over...

Agree, relax and roll with it is good advice for when you can..

I hooked up the water line that we use to water the lawn out front a few days ago, then realized at 11:30pm that it was only 27F out and I needed to drain it so it wouldn't freeze and break things.. Has froze hard each night since, glad I left it drained.

Stay safe, prayers for all..

Yeah, it looks all fluffy... much to my dismay, it is that heavy wet stuff. We have quite a few branches broke on the bigger trees. They just popped all their leaves about 4-5 days ago. The snow really piled up and stuck on them.
