Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. High 77F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Much better, Rick. Nice pics, looks like your hard work is paying off.
Glad that pair of ducks came back, Ron. Be fun if they started a family in your pond.
You might be able to google up old versions of Apple system software, Don, but the way I understand it, even if you get it installed, it won't run because Apple's security software is date based and will prevent it. You can get around that by setting the date in the past, and there are patches out there to get around the date issue, but at some point it just makes sense to treat yourself to a new computer. I see Apple has now managed to fit a 16" diagonal screen into the old 15" chassis of the MacBookPro, and when this 17" "lunch tray" finally bites the dust, that's probably gonna be its replacement. I've been pretty impressed with the
Griffin Survivor case I put on the iPad Mini. Lots of cushy gel surrounds a good fitting plastic shell so it feels good in my hands. Easy on/off, and very inexpensive if you pick an ugly color. It gets pretty good reviews from people that have dropped their iPads, too.
Lots of rain in Hawaii and the Eastern Seaboard, hope everyone comes out the other end unscathed.
:welcome: to the newcomers! The more the merrier!
Took some planning to catch that front coming through, Walker. Nice work, and thanks for sharing!
Hope the internet repair person has their act together and finds the root of the problem, Rich. With so many working from home these days, it's bringing a lot of skeletons out of the closets.
Thought I heard a door slam inside the house early yesterday morning, enough noise it woke me up. Later I found the guest bathroom door closed, so that must have been it. Checked the weather records for that time, and there was no strong wind, but it did shift from northeast to southwest all of a sudden at that time. There's a fan vent in that bathroom, and another in the kitchen on the other side of the house, so I suppose that kind of wind shift could generate enough pressure to slam the door. That, or I've got a poltergeist in the house!:confused3:
Got another four feet of progress before dinner, still chasing the conduit in a straight line as it heads into the hill up to the parking pad next to the garage. Made it past the railroad tie steps, all but the bottom one anyway, so at least I won't have to tear those up. I believe the steps are over the other conduit I was worried about, so now just have a water line to keep an eye out for. I've got a pretty good stock of PVC and fittings on hand, and I know my glue is still fresh from the electrical conduit job, but it'll still be a mess if I break that line. Your shaving technique will get a workout today, Ted. I haven't found any marker tape here, but I have found pieces of concrete roof tiles, chunks of concrete, soda cans, and pieces of metal. I learned a long time ago not to put anything but dirt back into a trench, but I guess contractors don't quite see things the same.:mur:
Tried backing the tractor down the hill to reach the end of the trench, but didn't quite reach before it got really steep and I didn't feel safe moving down any further. Got a nasty surprise when I released the brake and the tractor tried to roll down the hill; I'd somehow managed to knock it out of gear.

Didn't get far because my foot was already on the brake pedal, but it just goes to show how easy it is to screw up when you get tired. Slept like a log last night, so all that shoveling was good for something...
Finished up the day by unloading the hard goods I'd purchased last Tuesday, figuring the bugs would be baked out of them by now with the truck sitting in the sun. Still wiped down the plastic on the outside of the TP and paper towel packages. And I was happy to find that the Kirkland brand TP is a full 4 1/2" wide, and they're jumbo sized as well.
Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start, even if it is a soggy one for some of you!
