RSR, thanks very much for taking the time to explain that. My guess is if the filtering material could catch the smallest particles, we couldn't suck
air through it. And yes, my comfy nylon mask has not one but two air valves in it. Uh oh.
I'm a belt and suspenders guy, and having spent a great deal of time as an insurance underwriter evaluating risk,
am just trying to cut down on the risk like most of us are.

what gets me is if we did have enough masks for everyone, our reality might be different. I bet those paper plants are working three shifts.
Well, we hopefully will get a good education here, and maybe next time it won't spread so badly. And we will have larger stocks of medical supplies.
It's not just oil we need to be storing... Is it me or have you heard anything out of the Red Cross?

Thank goodness for the country. Meanwhile, I'm going to dodge those micro droplets as best as I can.
This morning going into supermarket, scruffy man and woman standing right near front door talking away to a third person, blocking
entry. I patiently waited and then said excuse me, telling them I could not get safely six feet away from them.
They looked at me like I was nuts. Clearly clueless, and getting exposed to every person walking by and exposing everyone else to anything they had.

I am thinking a lot will change long term after people use video streaming and working from home for a few weeks or months. This virus is changing the world like nothing before as in pushing out new ways to use technology that has developed over the past 25-30 years.

Do you think the owner of the animal shop that started all this has enough product liability to pay for this?.........
Maybe this will stigmatize the bat and snake eaters they apparently have.

One major point that I have not seen mentioned in regards to the various n95 breathing masks;
many of the industrial type for general work have an EXHAUST VALVE if an individual who has the corona virus is wearing such a mask it is seriously compromising the so called safety aspect of wearing one.
If the mask you are looking at has the exhale valve it might as well be used to prevent getting the virus rather then preventing the spread.

,
Good point.
My cartridge mask has that exhale bypass.
Would be useless for an infected person.

Do you think telemarketers are actually going to let a little virus stop them?

TBS
Don't think they can message legally.
The TCPA was passed into law in 1991 and restricts unsolicited telemarketing calls, faxes, pre-recorded calls, and SMS text messages (codified as 47 U.S.C. 227). It was modified in October of 2013 to require businesses to get prior written consent in order to send text messages to customers for marketing purposes.Dec 8, 2014

You have to wonder what scammer is selling coronavirus protection to the elderly.
A chocolate covered zinc pill?

I used to call on a title agency client in Freehold NJ. If you have ever been near there you know the town is very unusual in that inhabitants are
at least 80% Orthodox Jewish and everyone walking the crowded sidewalks wore black with black top hats. You couldn't hold the door open
for someone, you did not shake a woman's hand, oh no, lot of rules to learn to not offend when calling on client.(probably like calling on the Amish)
It was like another world there.

Well...last weekend two families in Freehold
threw big weddings in their back yard, when the restaurants shut down, even though I think they have a max 10 gathering limit. Well over 50 at each wedding,
and sure enough, their neighbors dimed them out to the police and both property owners were arrested.

Selfish behavior, even Daddy's little girl can wait a couple months.
Or maybe she couldn't it appears. Would be awful if she got sick from this, just not using their heads.
I'm guessing they felt the rules didn't apply to them, like so many people.

Prayers for all folks who are sick.

We have to question the validity of that "six feet distance" everybody is quoting. If somebody with the virus is outside and sneezes what would prevent the virus from going miles?!

Nothing. BUT the concentration of the virus would be so low as to not cause an infection. Not just one virus is gonna get ya. People are not contracting this infection from breathing air. They are mostly getting this virus from close contact with others. AND mostly being in contact with other family members
