A couple of weeks ago mom and I did not attend the funeral of a beloved co-worker... we both worked with... a true inspiration with 40 years of operating room experience.

We took some heat for it at the time... even a call from a friend in tears saying you didn't come?

Last Monday as I removed chairs from the waiting rooms and lobby and placarding all the entrances several spontaneously said I did the right thing...

Emotions run high but keeping a level head and acting prudently to minimize spread only makes sense.

Young parents... this is the group I personally see taking it the hardest because of the burden of responsibility... keeping safe, keeping a roof over their heads, food, keeping the kids on the right path... etc.

My experience is by and large has been positive... even extra courtesy and understanding.

Of course there are exceptions... the outlaw Oakland sideshows were in full force again last night... cars burning up intersections with crowds...

Also Oakland sent out official letters stating enforcement of fire season begins May 1... for decades it had been June 1.

So under threat of fine and forfeiture the city is directing property owners to mow, trim, till, contain, etc. with full compliance end of April.

I find it both amazing and disturbing at the same time, how fast this country fell apart. Amazing how fragile the economy is and disturbing how cavalier people take this situation. A little common sense goes a long way but the general populace today exhibits very little common sense.

The USA has NOT fallen apart. We are just hunkered-down waiting for the enemy to be defeated. After that it will be amazing how quickly the economy gets back to normal.

It shows a table for the world's most populated countries, their density of people per square kilometer, their urban density, and their share of the world population.

Draw your own unscientific conclusions as to why some countries with lower people per square kilometer have higher numbers of infections. Urban densities would be a good place to start speculating.

Also noted that the U.S. now has the 3rd highest number of COVID-19 cases. It's not as simple as that's because the U.S. is the third most populated country. Wish it was. But I don't think it is.

You may want to google that question. I think zinc can be good and too much zinc can be bad from what I read yesterday. I am trying to go though my inventory and relearn why I have them in my supplement stock. For some reason I had stopped using Quercetin (claims to be an antiviral) so I restarted that yesterday as if I have COVID-19 which is 6X the normal amount on the bottle. My vitamin D levels have been 155+ ng for the last 3 years but one can never be sure about supplements and I have been studying them for over 20 years but I know enough to not advise others about supplement usage.

Could it be the hourly influx of foreign travelers into a multitude of locations each day?

I hope this is OK to post as I do not wish to close the thread.

I lost a tremendous amount of respect for the leaders of my church when this got serious. They were OK with exposing people to the virus...it was all about the $$$ and they used scripture to justify their actions. Just so sad. But church is not religion and religion is not God. The sheep will soon forget what happened, as their need to trust is greater than their common sense.

I have prayed God will give the leaders of my church wisdom, strength of character and strength of faith. They really need it right now. We are measured not be what we do when things are good, but what we do when things are going south.

BTW, I think the governor of NY did a good job.

I am disappointed that production has not been ordered for sorely needed masks? They are ESSENTIAL and cheap. It boggles the mind.

People have been very understanding,

The only thing that was out of normal was shopping for 2 infirmed friends and my 89 year old mother.

Picked up supplies and last stop was Walmart, Wife finished 1st and was headed out to the truck.
I had bought some extra gas and it was strapped down in a can against the tailgate in the bed of the truck.

Wife noticed a Guy standing behind my truck leaning on the tailgate arm INSIDE the bed behind the tailgate.

She finally turned toward our truck and the guy pulls his arm out quickly gets in his truck without a word- his truck had six gas cans in the bed.
He then drove off quickly.

Kind of like the PSPS when the grid was down for days and generators were the hot item... people driving neighborhoods looking for opportunity....

Good resource...but like I said earlier. Canada is a large country but has 90% of their people living inside a strip 100 miles wide that borders the US. That skews the actual population density. Russia will be the same...having huge areas with few people.

Easy to see what could have impacted Italy.
