Yes, I would think those with lung injury from vaping would be more likely to die from even the regular flu. Wuhan Flu would be much worse.

So do I actually, the gal who operated me and took out 14" of my ascending colon last winter has Lupus, I never knew it until she told my wife and I when she found out I was almost blind from the cataracts I got from the heavy dosage of Chemo I was taking. The eye surgeon that replaced my lenses in both eyes also did hers, I guess cataracts are caused by the drugs to treat Lupus like chemo does to cancer patients sometimes (I was one). The doctor did both of her eyes at once, which is really rare. usual procedure is one eye at a time, a month apart. If it wasn't for her skilled hands, I would not be here right now. For that I will always be in her debt and she's pretty too...

Lens replacement is wonderful surgery, take about 5 minutes and recovery is almost instant. I now have 20-20 in both eyes. All my life I needed glasses, not any more. Amazing what medical science can do today.

Kind of like cancer. I still don't know what was worse, the chemo and it's side effects or the cancer itself. Hard to say. I keep my port in my shoulder just in case though. I went through **** having it surgically implanted so I hang on to ot, my badge of courage so to speak.

I don't wish what I went through on anyone but I'm still here, a survivor and in remission and cancer free. Good to be alive and I don't take ANY medication at all either.

Is it something to take seriously, yes.

Has it been over-hyped and are we going overboard? Yes, very much.

Is the reaction/cure doing more damage to the economy than necessary? Very likely!

The peak has begun. A major hospital [update: major hospitals] in NorCal has run out of masks and wipes. Volunteers are needed to sew fabric masks at home.


As of today, Kaiser South is out of masks and sanitizing wipes.

The thread starts off Saturday morning 3/16 simply asking for donated supplies. Whatever professional gear someone might have.

12 hours later - scroll down the thread - the situation is dire, they need to treat the sick without any protective gear at all. Anything that someone can make at home and bring, is urgently needed. They are told to use one mask all day instead of discarding it after treating a contagious patient.

"The CDC is literally telling us to wear bandanas."


And in that thread, re another major hospital midtown: "My daughter works at UC Davis oncology. Someone stole their masks and gloves."

I have no idea what "THAT" channel might be, but your admission that you haven't watched it, or any other TV channel, in over 5 years really doesn't add any weight to your point.

First, have to laugh about the comment at the top of the article about supporting local journalism. This wasn't journalism, THIS is a prime example of a news article creating for shock value and creating hysteria IMO.

NO WHERE in the article posted does it state what this woman died of, only that she tested for the virus and died before getting the results. Apologies, is the dead womans boyfried in the medical profession and does he know what she died of? He's (the boyfriend) is making an assumption.

Is there a chance she could of gotten it? Yes. Is there a chance that she could of NOT had it? Yes. Is there a chance that this woman had another condition that increased the odds that she was at a higher risk for whatever reason that "accelerated" her death? Yes. However, none of this was addressed in the article.

Is this virus an automatic death sentence to anyone who has it? By far, no. However, that does not mean that if you show any signs of a symptoms per this virus, that does NOT mean you shouldn't get yourself checked out ASAP.

Do I belive this virus is a issue? Heck yes.

If ANYONE is running a high temerature, you should go get yourself checked out ASAP. This woman (39 year old in the article) had that chance and passed on it because she thought she was low risk (news flash, 39 really isn't that young). If she were 20, I could understand her line of reasoning. We are running more precautions even in our own home because my 88 year old father living with us.
