Good evening all. 61F for the start, rain, light wind, 1.5 inch in rain gauge. More heavy rain this morning, glimpse or 2 of sun at noon then cloud up again, more heavy weather tonight. High temp for the day was 76F. Woke up with news, wife thought HVAC was out from lightening, after some half asleep diagnostics, HVAC ok, fridge not so much. Compressor was cycling on, then off quick, after 1 or 1.5 seconds. Called neighbor for appliance help got name and use of his RV fridge. Moved most stuff over and called guy in. He mad 3 PM appt, then had plug and light inop. No breaker issues, worked on finding electrician. had not found one by time fridge guy showed up. He had a 3 in 1 starter pak he wired in and fridge was back up, then he look around at panel and found nothing so he gave me name and when I called guy reminded me find the ground fault plug and reset it. After I found it and reset it, downstream electricity was flowing again. After dinner restock fridge and short bike ride. Then found out Easter bike ride is now canceled.
too tired to catch up
prayers for all
stay healthy!

Meeting tonight at church building to discuss Sunday plans. Decided to have just a few of us at the building and stream a service that members will participate along with us from their home. Right now we can have 50 people, but there’s talk that will be reduced.

Raining now.

Worked from home today, but I might have messed up my test equipment.

Costco trip was a bit different..
We almost always stop in Waimea McDonalds for coffee, maybe a sausage biscuit or egg mcmuffin. Today, the dining area was closed, drive-in open, could order for takeout. We enjoyed our coffee in the car.

Arrived at Costco about 9:15. Thought we may have beat the crowd - not. They did open the doors about 9:45 and only took us 40 minutes to snake our way in so actually in before the official 10am opening. Passed a sign alerting us, no TP, paper towels, sanitizer, wipes, clorox, ice cream, or puppy pads. People in line respectful of distance, some light hearted banter, a few tourists in the mix. Well behaved group.

As we try to get there at opening usually and be in few dozen to enter, this was a bit different a strange feeling of emptiness even though many had entered already. Aisles never got crowded. Was surprised at the items with signs with Limit 1 - dog and cat food, water, rotisserie chicken, etc. i didn’t see the sign on butter and got caught at register. As we were also shopping for our cottage tenant, wife and I had 2 carts and checked out separately. I will say the Costco staff was wonderful, in good spirits, helpful, pleasant to talk with. One missing item was the 2 bottle white vinegar. Otherwise a very good selection of most stuff, meats, veggies, fruits, etc. Checkout lines moved well. All in all we were finished about our usual time.

Normally, we stop at a Chinese buffet for lunch in Waimea on way home. Figuring that wasn’t a possibility with the new restrictions we did stop across the street at the DQ in the shopping center food court. All tables and chairs had been removed. Food was available takeout only. All the vendors were open.
We enjoyed our Blizzards outside on a bench in the sunshine. Then headed home.

Will be interesting to see how this all shakes out over a prolonged period. We only go Costco a few times a year, usually geared to dog food. Have 4 40lb bags so good for awhile. Will have to be on lookout for paper goods locally. Freezer is full so no food panic expected.

Interesting times.

We have been reduced to 10 people now that 4 cases are in our county. Dining rooms and bars closed.

32 right now and snow showers (I didn't see any snow showers when I looked out the window). High in the mid-40's.
Other then no travel at work, there are few other restrictions yet...at least in our plant. Like other states, schools, restaurants and bars are closed...except for take out at the restaurants.

Good morning, the temp is 30°F and going up to 48. Wind E 9 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

I gained a day this past week. I thought Wednesday was Thursday. I go to the dump today.

My Brampton trip is cancelled. Got a phone call from Shelter Logic head office telling me that the shipper won't allow any 'pick up' at warehouse. I guess they will have to ship them.

Have a safe day all

good morning all. Was supposed to be getting an epidural today but they cancelled that, most disappointing. So instead I'm going to continue to plant flowers on a very warm day, getting up to low 80's with morning showers. I'm mostly broadcast seeding the big fenced garden, will see how it goes. Think I heard a thump on the porch late yesterday, forgot to go check, and hopefully my stand up hole planter arrived. My right hand is a little sore from all the hand planting yesterday so this new tool hopefully will be a winner.

Powerwashers finished the house and all the white fencing. Next Wednesday they come back with a wash/wax solution and they will do all my tractors and implements, some of which have a nice coating of green on them. And for sure a lot of pollen. I have a 4000 psi powerwasher, but cleaning off grease with hot water works so much better. My finish mower is covered in grease from pto flinging it. And then when they are done, I have a great deal of re-greasing to do, get all the water out of the joints. First I use a leaf blower on the implement to get as much water off as possible.

Signed papers on the farm yesterday, drone guy said video should come out nicely. I'll post the link whenever I get it.
He's coming back next week for interior shots, that's where I take a plastic bin with me and put clutter in it before he shoots, then put it back after he's done....

Realtor said phone calls/traffic in office has died off dramatically. My timing isn't very good for sure, but I'm confident the right person will come along. Everyone checks out homes online anyway.

Warm weather for next few days, nice to be back in shorts and a t-shirt.

We have something similar. only a bit bigger.
This hangs in the Wellington airport With a life size Gandalf sitting on top. Weta Workshop who did all the work on Lord of the Rings, Avitar, and I think The lion heWitch and the Wardrobe is only about 3km away. I went through the airport sunday on the way back from riding the 152kms of the Otago Rail trail.
