Any self employed person will tell you that they have to work or they don't make money.. even vacations provide no income.. I grew up on a farm, we had no health insurance, if someone went to the doctor, we had to pay the bill.

Many workers that do cleaning are independent contractors and have to have their own insurance, etc. Most don't get any kind of coverage that pays when they are sick (is there such a thing)?

Pretty morning into mid afternoon, 54 & cloudy now. Rain tonight and tomorrow.

Ellen had to get a mole on her back biopsied, turned out precancerous but in the verge, they have to remove the remainder soon.

Had a nice visit from our ministers last night, they are husband and wife. We served pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

Let the cleaning ladies in, Went to the bank, the Vet, garbage run, and Ellen’s doc. Tomorrow is back to rehab. Thankfully it is early.

So far the Ram is getting 16.8 mpg compared to my KIA Borrego V8 at 17.9. Not too bad I guess.

Went to interesting class, Stop the Bleeding, last night. A first aid type thing. Practical exercise in compression and tourniquets. One of those lessons you hope to never have to use.

Did they also show you how to stop bleeding in a puncture/bullet wound by stuffing it full of gauze? Kinda gruesome, but if you need to know that, you need to know pretty badly...

For some reason I find typing preferable to shoveling rocks, which I've been doing most of the day.

Good evening.....44 now.....tomorrow is supposed to be cooler. Was 53 today.

I should be on I-77 headed south. About 10 minutes before I was going to leave work, kid I am helping texted me the races are cancelled due to weather. 4 of rain in 6 hours isn稚 good for race tracks. Guess it is under water so no road trip this weekend.

My employer holds part of my salary aside and uses it to pay me for when I get sick or want to take time off (up to the amount of time they withhold).
You don’t need a government mandate, anyone can set this system up themselves.
The problem is most people don’t have the will power to do it when they are self employed.
Remember that quote I gave last week that only 12% of millennials are financially literate, I think the non millennials aren’t much better.
It’s amazing the number of adults who don’t understand basic taxes, withholdings, and the tax return process.
