First reported case of Coronavirus in Texas 3/4/2020 - Fort Bend County. Now 13 states reported infected.

I suspect that in the not so distant future, every state and territory will have confirmed cases. The key here is how they are dealt with and contained and how if the population actually practices proper hygiene.

I can't remember where i saw this, but it indicated the current influenza infections are dramatically dropping. Probably because of the change in people's behavior. E.g. staying home, washing hands and not licking door knobs.

Flu cases are down for the second week in a row. I would surmise it is because people are doing as you suggest.

I'm a little skeptical on the numbers being reported in China. I have a feeling it is a lot worse than it they are leading it to be. On a plus side gas has gone down from China shutting down factories because of sick workers. Using logic this leads me to think there are a lot more cases/deaths than are getting reported by the Chinese gov't. I know in NYC alone they have 12 confirmed cases. I work in a school so if this starts to spread rapidly I wouldn't be surprised to see schools closing for deep cleans or at least having O.T. on weekends for the schools to be cleaned top to bottom.

A little scary thinking about it all but you can't live your life in fear of all this. Look at the H1N1 virus and how people reacted to that.

IT appears to be cycling down not unlike other similar (SAR etc.) outbreaks...

...China reported 120 new cases on Wednesday — the lowest number since nationwide daily updates began Jan. 21, World Health Organization figures show....

Obviously it will take time to see how wide the spread is here and in other countries until it cycles down...

Italy to close all schools and universities

My daughter is at the University of Washington. She thinks they are getting ready to close. It will be interesting to see how much education can be done on the internet. My wifes company is trying to figure out if their infrastructure will work if everyone has to work from home.

On Monday, the man, who works at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., tested positive for the virus and this week a second patient who had “close contact” with him tested positive as well and is in self-quarantine.

The man is now under official order from New Hampshire’s health commissioner to stay home.

My wife was planning on visiting her Dad in Seattle (Harborview hospital), but she has still not recovered from the last trip... she is worn out. Our daughter was planning on driving and taking our grand daughter and one of us, but is leaving us home with the granddaughter.. no need to risk it and FIL is doing much better now. There are too many selfish folks that don't care if they infect others.. me me me me me entitled waste of oxygen.

I didn't get that close. I'm very careful about walking through anyone's atomized exhaust....lol Always have been, why I don't do flu shots and never get sick.

Today, people in general have no respect for others anyway. It's the 'me too' attitude.
