David, that pic is just a tease with all the stuff loaded on the tractor.... what we REALLY need is a video of you MOVING THE TRACTOR with all the stuff on it! Looking good, making great progress!

Oh, in the first pic, how do you level with the building leaning like that? :D

Well, hopefully not a sign of things to come today, the second gravel truck broke down in the driveway while trying to dump the stone. He got the tailgate to release, but the hydraulic lift for the dump was frozen. It would not lift at all. He could not go back to the shop because the tailgate was open.....

They sent out a mechanic and he added some antifreeze stuff into the air lines. Got it to work after an hour here in the driveway.

WooHoo! More gravel! It is still too cold out to play on the tractor, only 30 currently. I will give it another hour and see if it warmed up a bit.

Oh what a time for the hydraulics to freeze up. Glad I didn't have to repair that...

Unexpected good time this morning...

I am preparing for leaving my job, part of that is to clean up email and files. I just finished permanently deleting 20k + emails, most of my email folders. I'm not planning on transferring a bunch of emails to the folks taking over my workload.. but I have moved a bunch of files to a folder on my OneDrive to transfer..

I just got a really happy feeling when I was deleting emails.. lots of history for sure. My 'sent' folder had 9,000 emails.

email can be a curse...Glad you're glad.

I just got word that my son posted another short video of the garage build. Here is a link for those following:

Dream Garage Exterior Construction Almost Finished! - YouTube

Good job on structure and editing video.

what a cutie, glad she's over her surgery. Thinking of you.

Continuing cardio rehab three days a week, struggled a bit today with this head cold or what ever it is. Getting better at balance and steps almost daily.
I知 down another three pounds with no changes in eating habits.
I知 sorry to read that so many are sick or injured, prayers for all.
Bought a 4 drop hitch for the Ram to level my trailer. Had a visit from Ellen痴 dad today, great guy!

Went to Ash Wednesday service tonight, very nice.

Have a good night folks.

Hope you get feeling better head cold wise. I just got back from Ash Wednesday services too. Great service.

Don, welcome back. Concerning the t shirt....I'll be the judge of that. :)

I can't imagine cutting a ship in half, then but welding a section in could be as strong as it was previously. Were the seas rough the last bit?

J- glad you and Peg are hanging in there. Nice shot of Brogen in the snow.

Praying for covid-19. There are some things that alarm me. 1st, the young Chinese doctor, taking care of patients, then coming down with it himself. He blogged about it to try and help med professionals around the world. He got in trouble with his gov't, then tragically he passed. So, young, fit, healthy people can die from it.

It primarily passes from one to the next by coughing and sneezing. 2nd, there are known cases of asymptomatic patients spreading the disease. Some might only have a scratchy throat.

3rd, USA has never had to deal with a pandemic like this I believe. The fact that social media can spread truths and rumors in minutes can create wide spread panic.

Reading between the tea leaves, the CDC is very concerned. They have officially announced to our public to expect lifestyle disruptions.

I stopped and loaded up with groceries and foodstuffs. I heard they are running out of bottled water. As long as the public drinking water is getting it's chlorine, it should be safe to drink. I'm hoping the electric providers can somehow keep going if we get to pandemic levels. Part of China looks like a ghost town.

This disease is a respiratory disease, similar, but not as bad as mers and sars. Most all mammals (and poultry) can get and spread these types of diseases.

One of my biology buds at work says he's not alarmed....yet.

I don't know how wife takes it, my friend is the loudest snorer, it comes through the walls of my house...remarkable but he's been like that forever and doesn't seem to bother the wife.<snip>

My wife used to snore loud enough to shake the plaster off the ceiling. Tried most everything. Finally got some wedge pillows. Stopped the snoring, until she slips down on the pillow.

37 right now...and that's where it's going to stay today. Rain, snow and wind today...tonight and into tomorrow. Must be March approaching ("In like a lion...out like a lamb").
Feeling better (Theraflu works wonders for me), but not 100%...70% will have to do.

I'm happy Sassy is home...no doubt she's happy too!

Good morning, the temp is 15ï½°F and the high will be 12. Wind N 16 and gusting to 24 mph. Snow! Accumulation 2-4" overnight and another 6" today.

There is about 4" of snow on the deck so far and it is still snowing, hard. I'm not going to NB today, there is snow to plow and customers to keep happy. Probably I will go on Saturday if this snow keeps up and I expect it will.
A shot of the radar map; North Bay, ON - 7 Day Forecast - Environment Canada the temps and amounts I will change into real North American figures. 5-10cm=2-4", 30 cm=12" going down to about -2°F tonight after the worst of the snow is done. The wind picking up to 30-50 kph= 18-30 mph.
Pointe au Baril radar station is about 100 miles west of me.

Have a safe day all

40 going to 50 and big winds today.

Sadamo, looking good.

Stayed wet and misty all day yesterday, so didn't get back to the firewood work, instead roasted coffee and went to the gym.

   / Good morning!!!! #107,368
Good morning. I had just started to make my breakfast when my wife asked if I had remembered to shut the gate that I left open yesterday to allow the sheep to graze the grass up by the top pond. Put hat, wellies and coat back on and after a brisk walk up there and back I returned to discover that my porridge was still cooking - incinerating would perhaps be a better description. Wish I had used a larger pan - would have given more room to get the angle grinder in ...

Took carport helpers and wives to appreciation dinner last night. A very good time and if comments are to be believed the lobster was excellent.

David, I was going to ask how much you charge to hire out "Canada Dave", but after checking the price of fresh lobster around here I think I will instead ask a friend who is partial to a cheap tuna sandwich. :)

   / Good morning!!!! #107,369
42 now, 46 later with 20-30 mph winds, gusting over 40. But it is almost March so wind and roller coaster temps are to be expected.
I still have the scratchy throat but feel OK.
Got my middle grandson today, 8 years old, bright, handsome and funny, just like his pop pop! LOL
Prayers for all in need, I’ll stop by later.

   / Good morning!!!! #107,370
Good morning. 22 now, it snowed last night after drizzling all day yesterday. Forecast says 51 on Sunday...what a roller coaster, but then, it is that time of year.

Everyone have a safe and good day.

No coffee this morning. 18° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 23° with on and off snow showers with winds 30 mph winds. Got belt sander repaired. Sassy is happy with her new hair do. She also got her sleeve off. She now has no restrictions. Need to get out and plow snow. About 6" of snow total and lots of drifts. Then it's off to hospital for Endoscopy that seems like I have been waiting forever for. Neighbor is taking me so I do not have to worry about roads. Then back home and recover. No other plans for today.

David, loaded tractor. I like the bright red.

Looking, spent summer vacations at Pointe au Baril for many years.

Roy, Sassy is a new person dog. Loves to visit new people even groomer and vet. Glad you are feeling better.

Don, glad your cruise did not turn into an Edmund Fitzgerald event.

RNG, Medigap G is very similar to F. I have C which is no longer offered. Difference is you will have to pay the $198 deductible. I look at all the plans. As pay me now or pay me later. The more expensive ones have no deductibles. Are what I call pay me now. Pay me later plans have copays and deductibles.

Prayers and best wishes to for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 25˚F a bit colder than predicted. The trail blazers start the final make ready of the trail we cut in the Fall. They will be wider and mulched and free of rocks and little stumps that are tripping hazards. We want to minimize the "I've fallen and can't get up" occurrences.
Heard last night that my SIL's company canceled their annual Spring cruise from Galveston because of the C-virus scare.

Is anyone changing or amending their vacation/travel plans this year?

Outside chores done E muffin time. :licking:
Since yesterday almost 3" snow melted and brooks streams clear ice water moving.
Only to gray squirrels shown up of breakfast yet to see bird fly by,seems this nasty storm grounded critters. :(
Plans for today...:confused3: might chew the fat at village store this afternoon.

Enjoy the day all.

I would strongly recommend getting a sleep study, because they both may have obstructive sleep apnea, which can kill. The solution would be a CPAP, which many on TBN already have. Worth checking out!

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 4:15AM. Sunny. High 77F. Winds light and variable.
The weather out here has been unseasonably warm and dry all month, with temps 10-15 degrees F above normal, and no rain at all. I'm not complaining, as it's been perfect for working outside, but the todo list of inside jobs is suffering.:D

I think the media is doing everything they can to scare He11 out of everyone regarding this virus, Don. Just this morning, there's a story of someone here in California coming down with it and they can't figure out how it was transmitted. That's got the stock market all riled up, but people are taking advantage of the dip and buying some of the tech stocks. With the shortage of surgical masks, 3M might be a buy here, as might Clorox. But in general, the same things we already do in the winter to keep from catching colds and other flues will work for this one, too: don't rub your eyes, nose, or mouth without first washing your hands, cover your mouth and nose if you have to cough or sneeze, get plenty of rest and eat a healthy diet to keep your strength up. It looks like a vaccine is still at least a year out for corona virus, but keep in mind that the regular flu shot doesn't cover all the strains out there, either. I don't have any travel plans for the summer; I don't like to vacation in the heat.

You're giving the widow Winchester a run for her money in the building add on department, David!

Try a cup brush in your angle grinder, Eric. DAMHIK how well they work on burned oatmeal.:irked:

Thanks for the Medicare info, Ron. Yet another item on the inside todo list.

The demolition hammer came in very handy to finish the trench at the end of the storage container yesterday, as two rocks too big to remove had to be chipped away to make room for the drain pipe. I was pretty well whipped when I went in for lunch, but somehow managed to recover enough to get the first foot of concrete poured in the solar rack post holes. Each one also got three six foot sticks of rebar in them, though I'm not sure how well they will adhere to the concrete, as the tamper David tipped me to worked almost too well and the concrete was so dense that it probably didn't reflow much around the bar. But the good news is that nothing rolled away uncontrollably down the hill, though the wheelbarrow tried to take off a couple of times and threatened to tip every time concrete got dumped into it from the mixer. The mixer itself ran well, once I noticed fuel leaking from the float bowl and tightened the nut holding it in place. That thing sure makes a racket; next time I'm wearing my Bluetooth shooting muffs and listing to a podcast or something. Took just a shade more than 13 50# bags of post hole mix for that first foot in each hole, only 68 more to go. I'll bring the next load of 36 home today when I go into town for groceries, and pick up the 1" PVC conduit fittings to finish the the 110V AC and signal runs as well.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

   / Good morning!!!! #107,380
good morning all, late start, but a nice sunny cool day to look forward to.
no plans, other than heading out to greenhouse to water. I use a big watering can now that the plants have grown
to at least an inch tall, previously had to use mister/pressurized spray on tiny seedlings. Now I can soak them which takes less time and
they get more water.

It was nice to see my friends yesterday. They said it was very foggy yesterday late afternoon going over Chesapeake tunnel bridge. He said he could hardly see the water
from the bridge and when they got into the tunnel parts, it was nice to be able to see ahead. Lot of ventilation inside the tunnels, keeps them clear.

Remember the mask will only help prevent you from transmitting the flu, it will not stop you from getting infected with the viruses.
this opened my eyes. What is the minimum spec for a respirator that will work? How about the ones for paint and fumes?
would be nice to have more discussion on this, I think a lot of us need to be educated.
