But isn't Messick's a dealer?

Parts are available from Messick's, Amazon, E-Bay, NAPA and a host of other parts suppliers.
They all sell the parts, but they are not all SERVICING dealers!
Messick's just happens to be a preferred parts house for me.
I would never go to Messick's (450 miles away) to use their dealer maintenance shop services.

I hear ya. Just couldn't resist. I want to support my local dealer as much as possible just because I like them and want them to be successful. I still do most of my own service but in the event my health keeps me from it in the future, I hope my dealer is still in business.

I'm looking at the NX 4510 and the NX5010. Main uses will be loader, boxblade, and backhoe work. My property is hilly with 90 percent woods. The only time that I would use the PTO would be for tilling and occasional mowing at my brothers property.
I'm just debating if 5hp is worth the extra money.

Hi, have an NX4510. 275 hours and pretty happy. When I bought it, they had a NX5010 on lot for 3k more. The NX I find is geared pretty high. Wish I had got the 5010 now. When box blading up hill, I regularly have to shift into L to avoid bogging down. Having said that, I don't know how much difference the extra 5 hp would be. But for 1.6k, I wouldn't even think about it and get the 5010.

Too many times in the past I have opted for the lower price option only to wish I had spent the money 'up front'. Hind sight is always 20/20.

I found a leftover 2017 Nx5010 an hour from my house. I'm going to go and check it out this weekend. There's 5 dealers within an hour of my house.

I have the NX4510 in HST with R4 tires. I love the tractor, but knowing what I know now, I would go with the 5010. Here's why: With R4 tires, you are 72" wide, which means you will want to run 6' implements. So, 6' tillers and 6' brush mowers. The 4510 HST has about 35HP at the PTO, which is the minimum recommended HP for many 6' implements. The 5010 has 39HP at the PTO. Due to this, I do notice that when the brush mowing and tilling get heavier, the tractor will bog a little. At the end of the day, I've just learned to slow down a little, but having to do it over, I would have bumped up to the 5010. I've also noticed that in high gear when running roads, I also experience bogging. All said and done, I think the 5010 would do everything a little better. Hope this helps.

Interesting. I'm curious about it's history, as I'm sure you are. "Leftover" to me would seem to be a new tractor that's been in the dealer's inventory. But that would mean it's been on the lot for at least two years, which seems odd to me. Perhaps a low-hour tractor that was taken back on a trade up?

How hilly? Track loader hilly? The only thing I can do on a hill with my Kioti HST 6010 is going up and down with the grades. You sure a tractor is your best and first choice.

That extra power goes to the wheels, but when I'm working on a hill, I'm in my lowest gear anyway.

Dealer says its new leftover stock. It ended up being a gear drive and they wanted almost as much as a new NX5010HST. I passed.
