kubota or mahindra

If I had to choose between two different systems I would choose the one that would be easy to remove and run without. Reason is simple sooner or later it will act up and be an expensive repair otherwise.

Then that would be a Branson. You can just take the DOC off, replace it with a muffler and it's good to go. You can just unplug or completely remove the Datalogger without any flashing lights or things preventing the engine from starting.

Just a sorry tractor. The brakes sucked, the clutch sucked, the gear shifting ability sucked. The loader controls are about as crude as it gets, the 3pt hitch control wasn’t much better. The list of what is good would be a lot shorter.
This. I think the Mahindra is a capable machine that will perform most tasks. But everyone I know that bought one bought it to save some cash and have since regretted it. Not because they're constantly tearing up, or under powered, or hard to get parts for, but because the loader controls are atrocious, the work platform is cramped/laid out poorly, run hot, which can be a problem in South Arkansas summers, and the list goes on. Just annoyances that when testing them you think you can look past, but once you start spending hours at a time running them they stand out more and more.

If the price is the only reason you're not buying the Kubota without a second thought, then I'd suggest either coming to terms with spending the extra money for a more usable machine all around, or looking at other smaller brands that would be closer to the Mahindra price. I personally really like my LS, and there are tons of folks here that love their kioti, Branson, LS, Bobcat, Yanmar, etc. I don't know what other dealers, if any, you have around, but personally, I'd avoid Mahindra.

Statements like this need some qualification.
I purchased my Mahindra 3016 because they gave me $7000 on my trade of an old JD 750 compact. JD gave me $1500. Plus JD's comparative tractor would have cost me 10K more than I paid for the Mahindra. Mine is of Japanese origin made by Mitsubishi. So "price" was a strong consideration.
Secondly, you can mount the Mahindra from both sides. Something that was important to me in dense woods.
Thirdly, I agree with most posters here who think some of the Mahindras are well...unsophisticated. My controls for shifting are indeed the Fred Flintstone of the tractor world. I have no problem with the loader or 3 pt controls.
Lastly, I don' t regret for one second my purchase of the Mahindra. It has done everything I've asked of it.

This is a company that sources its machines from 3 places:India (so does JD), Japan and North Korea (Tym) Your LS is also a North Korea product. Mahindra's 2538 is a Tym and more sophisticated than its lower price point brethren.
Of all I have driven, I like the feel of the 2538 the best. The India machines are simply "brutes" and very "old time" stuff. Sloppily cast and quality control 2nd rate. Everything has its place I guess.

I was unaware they sourced from anywhere but India, good to know. I guess I haven't been on a 2538.

I have never regretted buying my Mahindra in the 12 years I have owned it. I have had almost no problems and it has been pushed hard. I hope the Kubota I purchased a few months ago is as good of a tractor.

If mahindra were as bad as some of you claim, They would no longer be selling tractors here. Anyone remember the yugo ?
They were sorry little cars. They weren't sold here very long.
So, Mahindra has out lived the yugo for being such a bad /crappy tractor

What I find odd is, all these experts talking bad about mahindra's are not mahindra owners ! LOL

I Know a guy in North Al. that is the largest Mahindra dealer in the state. He has been a Mahindra dealer for 10-15 yrs
I still haven't seen a going out of business sale at his dealership yet !
What I find amazing is, how he stays in business selling Mahindra, the sorriest tractor in the world !

Why would we want to own a piece of junk tractor? In America put a low price on it and it will sell regardless of quality. I bet you don’t find many experienced operators that’s put a decent amount of time on other tractors talking good about them.

Piece of junk LMAO ! That's why they still selling tractors here. But not being educated on the subject, you wouldn't understand that logic.

Why does Ikea exists of junk quality puts someone out of business? Why does China export mass quantities of trash if junk doesn’t sell? Go buy one of those nice Mahindra tractors if you really want to show your support.

Do you know which country is the largest producer of VRF a/c systems ?
Yeah, china. But china makes many things, some very good and some bad...Mahindra just makes a very good tractor. Not toaster ovens, shoes, socks, baseball gloves, etc,.

As for Ikea, There is no store here. There's one in tx. My brother shops there often. He loves the place. Obviously so do many other people. It's still in business.

Now go drink some more orange Kool-Aid
