John Deere. Why settle for cheap? 0 percent interest, the best there is and resale is higher forever.

I have an L3560 open station. At 1,700 engine hours DPF and regeneration have been non-issues.

The few dollars saved is soon forgotten when you need parts & service. My money would be on Kabota within your considerations.

Since when are any new tractors cheap.

Another vote for Kubota, but I only have 100 hours on my tractor, yet no DPF issues.

I went from John Deere 4310 1200hrs to Kubota Grand L 6060 cab w/DPF. Loved my John Deere and love my Kubota with over 200 hours. Like everyone I was concerned with DPF, so far if you didn't see "regenerating" on the dash you wouldn't even notice it. If it continues to perform like that, all will be fine.

2019 L4701 just hit 170 hrs today it regened today also at like 167 hrs kept on digging stumps with hoe no smoke just keep RPMs over 2k 15-20 minutes it’s over.I was also concerned on DPF but Kubota seems to have a great system no fluid no smoke at 3k hours particular filter cleaned I believe or replaced ??? I’m very pleased and impressed with mine

Everybody is gonna tell you that "their tractor" is the best. So take our opinions as such. But to trash another brand, never having owned it, is childish and foolish.

You need to pick the tractor that feels right for you and solves most of your needs irrelevant of the price. You're gonna own it for a long time, so the pricing difference, while important, should not be your primary concern.

I chose mine over Kubota or Deere for the following reasons:
* It was heavier than the same HP of the others, making HD work easier to do
* It will NEVER require DEF, or regen cycles, and thus eliminates even the possibility of an issue there
*The ergonomics of the 2538 fit me better than the other two

Now that I've got 1100 hours on it, with no issues what so ever, I'm satisfied with my decision.

But that doesn't mean it will be the same for you.

I worked as a service coordinator at a dealership that sold Mahindra and Kubota concurrently. I don’t have to own either brand to have developed an informed opinion.

The Kubota is a Grand L model and I don't think Mahindra can match that level of "deluxe" in that model. So these aren't quite even to compare.

All I have to say about JD is it's green... Like money. I own some JD equipment. To date I have not seen a cheap JD part. I'll probably get spanked for that comment, oh well.

Drive them both. Some dealers will let you use a demo for a day.

The reality is any of the name brands are good machines. Factor in that most of us put less than 150 hrs a year on a tractor.

Lastly, evaluate the dealer. The Mahindra, Deere, and Kubota dealers lost my business. Funny...Mahindra was at the top of my list when I started and they wound dead last. YMMV

I happen to own both a Mahindra and Kubota. The Mahindra has given great service for many years. I only have 25ish hours on the Kubota but am very happy with it to date. I also have a John Deere garden tractor (lawn mower) that has provided great service for many years other than all the cheap broken plastic. That is why my tractors are orange and red.

Gold standard is Kubota they are the Toyota of tractors

Kubota Grand or Mahindra. Is this even a real debate? “I bought a Mahindra because it was the best” said no one ever. BTW there’s no free lunch with the emissions on the Mahindra. They take a different approach but they have to meet the same standards.
