The upper right watt values (2940.00) and (2469.60) are watts/hour.
The lower right values are Kw痴/gal generated and the cost per 100Kw痴.

90cummins

I'm having trouble with this # (I'll blame it on only having one coffee so far !:))...... for that 2.46960 kw/h you generated, what did that cost you in fuel ?

Now that I've asked that arithmetic 101 question (that I should be able to figure out....), I'll go make coffee #2 pronto !

Apparently half the value of that settlement is in PG&E stock to be distributed to victims. Whereas the insurance companies got pure sweet cash in their $11 billion settlement.

The Rich get richer.... sounds about right......

Two of the things I don't get with that settlement..... that Oakland building fire - can't see how that was totally on PG&E, it sounded like a fire-trap the city should have shut down much earlier......

....... if the rural issues were due to lack of line maintenance, why was not some of that award held in escrow for just that ?

Bingo...

Deep pockets on Ghost Ship for sure... it is just how things are done.

Tragedy to be sure but PGE looked at the lawsuits and years of litigation from the estates of the deceased... might as well wrap that up too?

I got a PGE notice on my door... my specimen Live Oak which I had professionally trimmed/shaped/thinned is tagged for mitigation... the tree is the center piece of my home and subject to extensive City preservation ordinances and HOA...

I will just have to see how it goes... There is a PGE power line pole on my property serving 4 homes at the end of my street.

In the past PGE would seldom respond... I had reported a tree leaning on PGE wires about 10 years back... they said they would have to work it out with the ATT as it was a shared pole.

Fire Inspections are quite rigorous with checklist and tree never a problem... but 90% of the focus is home and defensible space.

This mess in Cali has me appreciating what good work gets done elsewhere....... much of Canada (and other US States) has enormous line-runs through very remote, rugged, and wooded countryside. It's a matter of Get It Done, vs. Pass the Buck......

Pendulums do swing...... uptime would be better if they clear-cut all of Cali, but even 40-50 years ago that would have been regarded as stupid.

I'm big on having greenscape around, from long before they started running the #'s on how trees mitigate city air-quality...... let us know how that works out for you..... if a licensed arbourist certifies the tree as healthy, that and the City law dept may help preserve it.

Strikes me as a bit ironic, you getting that notice....... heck, if you step up your game just slightly, you could be providing standby power to the entire block ! Tell PGE, "I've got their back, No Worries !" :D

Asked to let me know when so I can be there and will hope for the best...

The neighboring city is in a lawsuit with PGE saying 3 year trimming is fine... PGE opted to remove city planted Cape Myrtle saying the cost to trim created ongoing burden whereas removal is one time expense.

The Cape Myrtle was planted with a Tree City USA grant and PGE approved the placement 12 years ago... volunteers hand water from a 500 gallon city owned water tank trailer... now just stumps.

I can see it from both sides... makes me appreciate a home on acreage even more... (WA)

I’m planning on running my generator and powering up entire house for 30 minutes or so today in preparation to winter. So far except for 2 brief snowfalls in October...all we’ve had is rain.

Best bet is an un-incorporated township, but there may not be any left in Cali.

There's a lot of them. California's a big state and the urban parts are fairly concentrated.

PG&E has a history of using low bid contractors for tree work, who do little actual work because they're lazy and want to have more to bid for for next year. People up here have been begging for more trimming for years. I've seen a change in how the tree trimming is done in the last year. They sent a second crew in the late summer in addition to the usual crew in late spring, and the second crew were from a different, more highly regarded outfit. And they did far more clearing. PG&E is in the middle of a project to put insulated wires on the branch circuits in our area and to underground the main line next year. Seems they're getting the message that they should have gotten 15 or 20 years ago.

So my last run started in failure. This thread made me actually do that.......even though I already knew I should.

It's been sitting for about 16 months (I moved last year, lots of things going on). Was left with some fuel in it, treated with sta-bil. We only get ethanol gas here at the time it was last filled.

It would only run on starter fluid. So I pulled the carb off, and the float and needle were fine. Even the jet was fine, but I cleaned it anyway. The nut that holds the jet on was 100% clogged. Easy fix, but would have been pretty awful in the dark when I needed it.
