If you are going to be picking up smaller items, brush, smaller limbs, etc, I would definitely go with the new Wicked Root Rake. I have a single lid OG Wicked, and I love it, but it is not good for picking up smaller items, as the throat is pretty open, even when clamped all the way down.

I'm keeping the OG, but come spring, I will be getting a new Wicked as well, because I do a fair amount of work with smaller items. I had a similar type grapple on my Kubota BX and it worked great, so I am sure the Wicked is even better.

I love it, man!
What could possibly be better than a Wicked Grapple?? TWO Wicked Grapples!!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes the WR Long I have is single lid and for small, shorter debris, it is almost impossible to pick them up. The teeth do not line up on top or bottom, so as soon as you think you have it ,it falls out. Was hoping, that would not be a problem if I bought a EA grapple. Now it sounds like the "OG dual lid" is the way to go. Seems like the Dual lid would have a big advantage over a single lid, but I have only had experience with a Long single lid, which is not a great comparison I suppose.

Personally I would not choose a grapple to pick up small things. I would choose one to haul a load. I have done a lot of grappling and I still get off the tractor to pick up small things even if I know I can get them with the grapple. There is just too much time fussing with a single piece and then you drop other pieces from the grapple trying to get the one you are after. Grab big loads and then do a little hand work at the end if needed. Or back rake at the end if you have a rake style.

54” dual lid wicked grapple on Kubota B26. Handy as a pocket on a shirt. Can pick up a pencil to logs. Well thought out design and material selection. Not the cheapest but the most bang for your hard earned dollars.

And M5030DT. Trying to downsize. Wife thinks the B26 is hers. She does most of the mowing. Used a B20 for 25 years 3700hours before it died. Tried various different machines but all fell short of what these tractors do and do safely. The B26 is a significant upgrade.

I hear you. When I say smaller items, I, personally, am not speaking about picking up a twig or small branch. I am more referring to trying to pick up that 6" log or branch. Yes, you can grab it with the tip of the teeth with the OG, but if you put it in the back of the grapple, and close the lid, you aren't holding anything. The throat is probably 12-16" when totally closed. Which is great for larger items, but not great for smaller.

But as I said, the new Root Rake would hold that 6" log.

In reality, in my situation, I really need two. I have a fair sized piece of land, and literally need to move everything from brush to small logs, to big trees, boulders and everything in between. No one grapple is good for all of that, but if I had to choose one, I would go with the new design. Luckily, I am fortunate enough to be able to get both, but many are not, hence my recommendation.

Patrick from New York has the 400 pound Wicked 66 Root Rake Grapple on his Kioti NX6010.
He says it's the best and most useful attachment you can get for a tractor!

We just received this review from a customer in Indiana. He has the Wicked 60 root rake grapple on his brand new Kioti CK4010.

"I heard about EA and the Wicked Root Rake Grapple the online tractor forums. I had never seen one in person, though I saw them at work on YouTube videos. Then I saw that they were American made by a small American company in North Carolina, were fairly light in weight and were much more elegant in design than those of the competition.

So I finally decided to buy one, and Travis made the process nearly painless! I wanted to hit the pre-Spring rush, and was not disappointed that I received my grapple about 4.5 weeks after I ordered it.

The grapple itself is well-designed and constructed, and though I haven't put it through its paces yet, it looks like it should be nearly indestructible! I cannot wait to put it to its full potential.

After the sale, Travis has been quite helpful with a minor issue on placement of the hydraulic line connections. This company believes in a quality product and in taking care of the customer even after the sale!"

It looks simply amazing!
