In the video all the hoses to the loader are disconnected. I was wondering if only a single hose was disconnected if fluid could go through that circuit and spray out the single disconnected hose. Could that happen??

Not unless a QD (quick disconnect) totally failed, unlikely.

On a compressor hose the female coupler seals, but not the male part of the quick disconnect.

Yes, you are correct. My mistake. However you can see the open hole in the male end of the air line while there is no open hole on the end of the hydraulic line. A compressor can easily refill the air tank and line, but we would all have to carry jugs of hydraulic oil to replace what drains out of the lines whenever they were disconnected if they weren't sealed. And dumping oil on the ground is generally not legal or desirable.

It seems my year old GC1710 doesn't use the 1/4" connection. I ordered the 1/4" AG and it is smaller than what's is on the FEL connections.
Here a picture of the 1/4" connection on the gauge next to the #2 connection to the FEL. And now I see how they seal.....thanks to all that replied.

I just sent you an email, I think you have 3/8" ISO 7241 "A" couplers.

Kenny, I want to order your valve, what coupler size do I need? I have a 2018 GC1710. To the original poster, great write-up, much appreciated! My loader seems to struggle so I'm holding the prv suspect. I'm also getting hydro squeal and the drive seems a bit anemic when pushing down on forward, so wondering if that's related.

Hydraulics for FEL and 3PH (and BH) are separate circuit from HST ... FEL/3PH pump is gear driven off HST input shaft but not any relationship to HST drive system...

We now have three charts on the website that you can download, print out, and compare. The GC1705 uses 1/4" ISO 5674 "AG" style, not 100% sure if the 1710 uses the same-it's to hard to keep track of all the modle numbers form every manufacturer.

I would think it be the same thing on the 1710, but just in case what do I measure? I got 3/4" on nipple diameter. IMG_20190924_133344.jpgIMG_20190924_133211.jpg

Those charts on your website did help, and yes I do think that's the one I need as well. Your website says to email you about that size coupler, so I guess I'll do that before ordering.

My 2015 GC1710 with DL95 has what appears to be 1/4" ISO 7241 - A series. Is this correct?IMG_20191001_203857.jpgIMG_20191001_203917.jpg

I got a 2018 model. Having myself ordered the wrong male connect on Kenny's prv gauge, here's what I could tell you, go take another look at those couplers for any markings. On mine, the male connects just have some numbers that lead to nowhere on a google search. The female connects are Safeway 545-3P. I called Safeway, was told the male connects which match those are ISO 5676 3/8", which is what I ordered on Amazon yesterday.

Finally got a chance to try out the gauge, got a reading of ~ 1900 psi, so guess it's fine.

I got my gage as well. I'm definitely showing some weakness in my system, which is fine, as it definitely isn't used as a lawn mower. I measured out at about 1730-1740 PSI. I figured I was getting weaker when I tried to lift something heavy I lifted a couple years ago that I could no longer lift as easily or highly. I'll have to fix that in the next few days before I start my next project of adding dual rear remotes.

That male coupler looks smaller than mine. Mine are 3/8". You may have the 1/4", here.

I would agree with you.

Pretty sure 2016+ they went with the larger couplers.

I have the 1/4” on my 2015. Curious if it would make much of a difference to flow rate changing them to 3/8” ? Must have been some reason Massey changed them to a larger size.

Mine is a 2015 and I can confirm I had 1/4" fittings. I would expect a smaller size means faster flow as the pump volume is the same regardless of fitting size.
