Took awhile finally got around to asking my Maid ! She said she did not wear gloves . A tradition and family secret taught to her by her Mom .

I have single hartnut tree. It never has had nuts on it. From what I read they are partially self fertile but a second variety helps pollination. Then I read about a buartnut nut tree, a cross between a hartnut and a butternut. News to me.
